No need.
But why do you want to restart the UniFi BTU (modem)? blink.gif
Just leave it as it is.

I never restart my BTU ever since the first day I use UniFi & that's like 4 ~ 5 years ago.
The only time the BTU is switched off is when I leave my house for more than 2 days, blackouts or when the BTU itself is faulty & in need of replacement (happened once).

which ASUS router can replace the Maxis Fibre (Technicolor TG784n v3) while still using the phone (Landline) & IPTV (Astro)?

I previously bought an ASUS RT-N14UHP for my Unifi last time but i found that it doesnt work with Maxis Fibre as i cant connect the IPTV & Phone to it.

Hi ngkhanmein,

The RT models actually do support Streamyx, it just that you will need a modem as a bridge.

And for wider range router you can have a look at these models.

Single Band
RT-N14UHP
RT-N12HP

Dual Band
RT-AC3200
RT-AC87U
RT-AC68U
RT-AC66U

Hi ASUSmy, can you recommend any ASUS brand wireless-N routers that support at least Gigabit Ethernet on LAN side and FULL support for ASTRO IPTV/MAxis Fibre broadband? Looking to replace my current RT-N16.

Edit: Also, wondering if there is a way to reduce the DHCP renewal time (when Internet connection is set to Automatic IP) to less than 1 day. Because Maxis resets the IP every 2 days, but the Maxis router, if set to DMZ, does not inform ASUS router of the IP change (so worst case scenario, ASUS router won't know IP was changed until almost 1 day has passed).

Hi gkong3,

Currently we don't have a router that can fully support the Maxis IPTV yet.

If you are looking LAN with Gigabit Ethernet, you can have a look at the below models.

RT-AC3200
RT-AC87U
RT-AC68U
RT-AC66U
RT-AC56S
RT-N66U
RT-N56U
RT-N18U

Thank you

Hi Zmir,

Currently we don't have a router that can fully support the Maxis IPTV, but the RT-N14UHP still be able to work with the Internet and the VOIP phone.

You can have a look the below video on how to do the setup.

Thank you for the response. Do you have any idea when IPTV will be supported, or what are the issues such that it cannot be done?

Hi ASUSmy,

I'm using RT-N14UHP for quite a long time, I bought this wireless router to replace my stock Unifi router which couldn't satisfied my wireless need.

For few months using this router, I'm unhappy with the wireless signal. If I'm near the router area, everything working fine. But when I use Wifi in my room, the signal is not stable, signal can from 2 out of 4 bars until disconnect.

My house only 800+ SF..what is the factor that effect the wireless signal?

Already check the wifi channel around you? Maybe got some interference from your neighbours. But for me better use 20Mhz N settings instead of 40mhz auto settings.

You mean its better to change the Wireless Mode to "N only"?
Noted. Will go back and try to check wireless channel surrounding me, and set a fixed channel.
Besides that, any other setting can improve the wireless signal?
I did change the Beacon Internal to lower instead of default 100, but still no improvement.
