Not sure if this is correct but I believe you may have an overheating AC68U.

Several questions:
1. Where do you place the router?
2. What firmware are you on now? The latest STABLE official ASUS firmware for AC68U is 3.0.0.4.378.4585
3. How many devices is connected through wireless?

Use AsusWRT-Merlin firmware to check the temperatures of your AC68U.
Only AsusWRT-Merlin firmwares can provide you with the temperatures. Official ASUS firmwares doesn't have this feature.

I'm using RT-N14UHP for quite a long time, I bought this wireless router to replace my stock Unifi router which couldn't satisfied my wireless need.

For few months using this router, I'm unhappy with the wireless signal. If I'm near the router area, everything working fine. But when I use Wifi in my room, the signal is not stable, signal can from 2 out of 4 bars until disconnect.

My house only 800+ SF..what is the factor that effect the wireless signal?

Yeah..i know he meant channel..but after that he added "But for me better use 20Mhz N settings instead of 40mhz auto settings." 

If I remember correctly, in 2.4ghz spectrum both channels 8 and 11 do have overlap. Only channels 1, 6 and 11 do not overlap.

Actually how to know whether the wireless is 20mhz or 40mhz? I'm using Wifi Analyzer in my Android phone, it shows channel, wireless frequency only.. 

yes i know. I did check before purchasing. But unfortunately there really wasn't any option as my current modem got lightning struck and I have to get one to use. I'll just bring back to swap for one that's usable. If this is the case, which model should I go for(modem)? Found another router that suites my needs.

You need a second wireless access point.

It depends on your budget. You can use your extra existing router as an access point if you want.

1) NTP update is getting the current time form the NTP server for the selected time zone.

2) Try updating the firmware and when it happen again, try capture the log and show us.
