Hi,

What is the warranty period for RT-N16? Is it 3 years? If yes, mine just died today, should I sent to the shop I purchase or can only sent to Asus Service Centre?

If you have bought it from an online seller like what I did, you can send it to:-

Asus Service Centre (RCMY_KL)
Lot 4-010. Level 4, Plaza Low Yat,
No.7, Jalan Bukit Bintang,
Off Jalan Bukit Bintang Central,
55100 Kuala Lumpur.
Phone:03-2110-0842
Business Hours: Mon-Sun 10am - 10pm

I bought mine online from Lazada Malaysia.

http://www.lazada.com.my/asus-rt-n12-d1-wi...ter-461355.html

Please call them up first to enquire before you go.
*
I went there yesterday, waiting for 1 hour, then when it is my turn, they said, ' Oh, we don't accept Router here, please go to Wisma SPS'. Luckily the centre as Wisma SPS still open. Asus @ LYP should put a remark somewhere saying that only laptops service available rather than ask ppl to wait for nothing. There is also another customer there same like me, both of us manage to sent the device in right before Wisma SPS close at 630pm.

The new official firmware from ASUS doesn't seems to work with UniFi IPv6.

Not sure if this is correct but I believe you may have an overheating AC68U.

Several questions:
1. Where do you place the router?
2. What firmware are you on now? The latest STABLE official ASUS firmware for AC68U is 3.0.0.4.378.4585
3. How many devices is connected through wireless?

1 suggestion on how to check the temperatures of your AC68U:
Use AsusWRT-Merlin firmware to check the temperatures of your AC68U.
Only AsusWRT-Merlin firmwares can provide you with the temperatures. Official ASUS firmwares doesn't have this feature.
*
i notice the cpu is at 89C which is very high but then even when i placed it in an aircodn room, the lowest it can get is 85C

Not sure if that's normal or not.
The hottest my AC68U ever run is at 71°C. But that's only because I use 2 60MM fan behind the router to suck out all the hot air.
The fan is connected to the USB port where the fan is positioned to suck the hot air out from the router. No mods to the router except for some double sided tape to secure the fan to the router.
I just recycle the fan from a laptop cooler that I'm not using anymore.

After some googling, it looks like it's normal for AC68U to run at those temperature you mentioned.
But I still prefer my devices to run cooler, to help prolong their life.
*
I took your suggestion and place 2 fan at the back of the router, now running at 70C. See if it will hang after 10 days or not.
