Hi I am getting RT-AC3200 replacing the old RT-N66U. The old router is heavily configured with NAS, IPCam, port forward etc working on Maxis fibre internet. My question is anyway to migrate my old router (N66U)  setting to this new AC3200 without manually reconfigure the new one?
*
Hi yc1437,

Due to the model are not the same, you won't be able to upload the setting from RT-N66U to RT-AC3200.

Thank you

Hi Asus Malaysia,

I have been trying to use RT-AC87U with Streamyx but after so many attempts calling you guys for help (At least 20 times) still couldn't have my problems solved.

I have got a D-Link ADSL modem which i use it in a pure Bridge Mode to connect with my RT-AC87U.

I was looking for Vasu to get information setting up my connection but he had been very hard to get. Was informed by other operators Vasu would definitely call me back by certain time but it did not happen. I am getting so frustrated.

Anyway, here is what i want to do.
1. D-link ADSL being set up in Bridge Mode,
2. keying in Streamyx's username and password in RT-AC87U in PPPOE for internet to work.

Problems: Internet connection can not be established.

Why going through so much of hassles getting this done? Answer: Wanna set up DNS to share files across 3 different location in different areas.

Can someone help please?
*
Hi Darrelllim,

As mention by @mkamal1976, do you put streamyx word behind your user name or verify that the username and password is correct?

Do you mind share your system log file for further checking.

Thank you

ASUSmy

Quick question, if a service/port is not specified under the User-defined QoS rules, what is the default priority for these?
*
Hi OKLY,

What coolguy_mahen said is correct, it will set to Low Priority for the not specified port.

Thank you

I have a problem I hoping ASUSmy can help with.

I just bought a RT-N18U yesterday. Flash to latest available firmware and factory reset it as stated in first page. All the setup n everything went well at first. I configure my Unifi + IPTV and plug in two ethernet device (NAS and PC). And I have a media player connected via WiFi. No other wifi devices. Not even phone or tablet.

I notice something very weird and frankly doesn't seems right. When I am streaming local media from my NAS to my media player (good speed, love the 450Mbps), if i were to do speed test on my PC at the same time, the router will cut the wifi bandwidth wayyyy down. Example if I playing a movie on my media player at 60Mbps, once I run speedtest on my pc (unifi 10Mbps) which is connected to the ethernet my wifi speed drop to below 250Kbps and stay that way as long as the speed test is running. Same thing for other type of load like Youtube or even a heavy webpage.

I try to play around with some settings but didn't help. Please advice... thanks.

I flash version 3.0.0.4.376.3754 (latest stable) also the same.

Then i flash back the original oldest version 3.0.0.4.374.4983 and it is a little better now. It still behaves the same way like before where the speed drop on internet load but now at least the available bandwidth to the wifi remains high enough that while playing a 25GB file on my media player wont have any lag.

No I don't. But I plan on purchasing the router as soon as I've settled on a suitable NAS config. Your setup sorta mirrors my intentions and so I'd like to know if it's an isolated thing or public. If so, solutions.

Hi WhitE LighteR,

May I know what model of media player is that? And the speed you get, it is from the media player?

Thank you

The issue is not just due to the media player (Minix X8H). Link rate is N450.

Last night I have also tested with my phone (Sony Z3) and my tablet (Galaxy Tab 10.1). All shows the same behavior.

So far this is my observation :

Version 3.0.0.4.374.4983 - Original firmware. Internet speed is disrupted (worst) by local streaming on wifi. The wifi speed drop from about 8000KBps to below 2000KBps (better).

Version 3.0.0.4.376.3754 - Latest stable firmware. Internet speed is not disrupted (better) by local streaming on wifi. The wifi speed drop from about 8000KBps to below 1000KBps (worst).

Beta Version 3.0.0.4.378.6117 - Latest beta firmware. Same behavior as version 3.0.0.4.376.3754

Any internet load actually like speedtest, youtube, http file download (not torrent).

I get the figure from :

1. Asus traffic monitor (quite useless as it didnt update that well, kindda hang hang on heavy load)
2. On my phone Sony Z3 I have a real time traffic monitoring small apps
3. On my media player I monitor via XBMC Codecinfo function (http://kodi.wiki/view/Codecinfo)

A little update on my case. As this is my first month with Unifi 10Mbps + N450 wifi, so its all new behaviour to me. I was on Unifi 5Mbps + N300 only last time.

So, I turn the Asus router into AP only mode and reconnect my old Dlink DIR 825 (Openwrt) as primary router. Did all the same test and observe similar behaviour to Asus. The wifi speed is about 60-90 and it drop once high Internet loads kicks in. They ding dong there fighting for resources on my Dlink.

I then tweak some settings on NAS and other stuff to simulate Unifi 5mbps and wifi 35-40Mbps (my usual speed on N300) and everything seems to settle down to the old behaviour.

So I think I hit onto some kind of limit probably on the both router. No wonder this days the router has so much CPU power. But the weird thing is the CPU usage on both router seems to be low. So i wonder what limit i hit actually.

I am having a problem. Please help me >.<

I just bought ASUS Router (RT-N12HP B1) few days back and my lappy always got disconnected from the wifi for few seconds and it connect automatically again.

Is there any settings that I configure wrongly? I am new to these things and the shop didn't help me configure. cry.gif

Currently, I am using the latest firmware

http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN12HP_B1/HelpDesk_download/
- 3.0.0.4.376.4018

I have tried factory reset my router before too, but still the problem is there.

Thank you for your reply !!! tongue.gif

I followed another video instead of this 1. which is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7VUBSFy_es

Because I am living in Malaysia and the configuration in above video is base on my service provider Unifi. which I select PPPoE WAN connective type instead of Automatic IP (DHCP).

Should I configure it again base on the youtube link you gave me?
