Brothers and sisters, here is my story. I am sick and tired of maxis. I have gone to so many stores after calling 123 and they told me that the note 2 is in stock. I am going for the maxis one club offer. Please if anyone has any intel about the availability of the note 2 and which store to get it from. I am a hardcore iphone fanboy and I have been swayed by the amazing note 2. So please if anyone can help out I would deeply appreciate it.

I think there is a serious shortage in the market. Even the price has gone up to near RRP everywhere. Don't blame the Telco in this case. I suspect Samsung underestimated the overall demand for this device.

Happens with crapple too, so be patient.

Maxis near bkt bintang area u can get 5mbps to 7mbps

@yoshi86, dont bother to send email to samsunguniv3z@gmail.com as it is just the facebook page email, no authority and yes, they dont even reply, i doubt it is even read. You can try submitting the message through samsung CS feedback system, response time usually within 24 hours.

if the centre manager still play taichi with you, just tell them, 'do you want me to raise a dispute with my credit card company and hold the payment?'..this may work if you bought using CC and recently purchased la.

yup.. with celcom.. was testing with the tweak.. even if those number arent consistent but at least i din suffer any lagginess/buffer while surfing net and streaming youtube HD. i guess i prefer the smoothness. tongue.gif

i am using Mobile Internet mAdvance from celcom only get 1.5mbps the same place my maxis can get 5mbps/

No need u can charge it anytime u like, unplugg anytime u like.. just dun deplete ur phone too often.. this will stress the batt ...

Damn mobile phones promoters need to seriously update their technical knowledge..

anyone can use astro on the go with note 2?
My dad read some chinese newspaper saying Astro on the go can work with Note 2 already, and some ppl said they got it to work. But i can't even get the app from google play =.=

depends. I never root my phone i still enjoying it. So its by choice not necessary. If the phone need to be rooted to enjoy basic function it should be thrown away.

I have had no problem with data. If you do, a few things to consider
1) Check if your telco is doing anything in your area
2) Clean your sim card contact
3) Maybe faulty sim card
4) Something else

the problem is, when the phone never on for long time, the data connection dissapear and cant get it n back ( no effect) restart the phone then u can see the data connection active....

Anyone facing S-Pen hovering problem?

Like overly sensitive? Before my S-Pen even touch the screen, it already make movements on the page or even started drawing even before I touch the screen.

Came across a video to solve it, by turning the screw inside the S-Pen itself. Anyone tried it before?

I think during v9, there are someone who pointed out on how to fix it yourself. it's an youtube embedded video.
but I sent it back to Samsung SC, got a new replacement, now working perfectly.

what happen to your sandisk micro sd card bro? 64gb?

From cases, it seems like 64gb is having alot of issues, but 32gb working fine...

Using 64 GB sd card so format as NFTS and install paragon NFTS. Then, flash memory swap as exfat or fat32? o.O

NTFS support is untest even for the developer... then 64gb... no chance to use fat32 unsure.gif

i just keep all 3 kernels within my drive...

1. Original stock
2. Perseus
3. Redpill

like the UV feature as found our n2 can easily UV >100mv which is kind of a lots when the max only 1.4V default... laugh.gif

Looks like the Samsung Ativ700 W8Pro tablet has got a Wacom digitizer, S-Pen AND S-Note.

Now if some enterprising dev were to provide the S-note exe, that will make S-note portable across a lot more devices hehe.

install addons detector, find apps that is causing these push notifications. uninstall those apps if you dun need them.

depends on the back case. I seen some ppl use case still works and some dont or some work but the sensitivity not as good as the original 1

Completely charged my phone with original charger last night and my battery is still at 100% after 5hrs and 3min sleep.^^

I love this a lot! Never get same result before with other phone. Wifi and 3g off wink.gif And maybe fruitie is right. I feel that charging using other charger makes the battery drains faster.

guys, wanna ask.. if buy note 2 from telco provider like celcom, digi or maxis, is there any difference on d phone?? or is it same set as we buy d phone from normal phone shop.. i mean, does d phone just only can be use for maxis line/ sim only, etc.. need advice.. tq.. smile.gif

If that's the case I don't think you'll face any problem.. She's paying the plan and you get the phone. Win-win situation. Warranty still under Samsung.

guys want to confirm with u all... everytime i switch on my phone, the gps auto turned on by itself... how to manually turn on when needed only? Or maybe because i activated "Find my mobile" feature in the setting so everytime i restart my phone the gps on by itself?

I think is an app that causes that. My phone doesn't on gps unless I do it manually.

Cannot turn off unless you rooted. Use alternative camera app to go into "spy mode" brows.gif

Frankly ver 4.2 sucks. Most users at G Nexus n Nexus 7 do not like it
Personally i find earlier version 4.1.2 is already good
I am running back 4.1.2 on my Nexus 7
Ver 4.2 does not bring great performance improvements. Whatever added features it has is unattractive n one can easily do without it

Sometimes i used my note 2 as modem in tethering wifi, this is speedtest result i get from my desktop and my another android phone connected to note 2...

My desktop speedtest result give mostly 3-5mbps, my another android tethering on note 2 give result 2-4mbps.
while testing speedtest on my note 2 only give me around 2mbps, rarely get over 3mbps. Can someone comment on this?

i bought aluminium bumper in bangkok for RM50 because KL always don't have stock..
silicone bumper i bought from lowyat plaza for RM15... but u can buy silicone bumper in pasar malam for RM10 only...

Note 2 got NFC or not?

Sunglobal batteries is coming in tomorrow, but this time i do not dare to order that much coz i scared later user complain cannot use the NFC again.

According to GSMarena, i do not see it has this feature. Just want to check with the note 2 users here to be confirm.

It's more of a back end update rather than a front end one. Of course it doesn't bring much new stuff. Do you have the picture of the charger? Please take a picture and post it here. We will make it go viral and force Samsung to do something about it. I really think there is some hidden problem in the charger that Samsung refuses to acknowledge

latest update about my Note2 warranty status. i had call Samsung today and they told that now status is approve for 1 to 1 exchange. (yesterday still pending approval from Service center manager, Customer Center manager and PR department, but now tell me that the Technician Engineer approve for the exchange). i hv no idea which is the truth story as they been putar here n there.

Since had approved, so i ask that when can i get my new exchange unit. Told by them that need wait for around 2 weeeks to order stocks. Now they make me angry, it back to day 1 story again that pending for stocks while yesterday tell me that stock available but pending for approval. Now approved but pending for stock again. i told them i will be oversea by next week for 2 months and i need get my exchange unit by this week, they suggest me exchange the phone after i back from oversea or leave my phone to someone else that help to exchange for me (dare they give such stupid suggestions)

i told the agent that i need speak direct with the manager but she told me manager engage with other customer and will call me back within 30mins. now 45mins passed and i yet to get any call. i give another 15mins to wait and i will call them back again later.

I think somebody suggested to threaten them by saying to call a dispute to credit card payment. How did you buy your phone? Cash?

Maybe the fuse laaa but theres electric current outside the adapter when i want to on the plug damn so scared almost kena my hand haha.

Previously, i have sync-ed my contact list with gmail and it imported all gmail contacts to my phone. I have to delete all these email contacts one by one.

However, when i want to send sms today and select receipient from the list, apparently all the email contacts are still there, only invisible to my contact list. Any idea how to solve this, ie to remove all the email contacts permanently?

that is because you have set to sync your contacts with gmail. Just unselect this sync at your contacts app or at your gmail account settings - do not select contact sync

I just bought a sandisk 64gb micro SD card, outright from the box, I plugged into the phone, in my phone I reformatted the sd card, may I know what format it is now? Fat32 or Exfat? do they make any difference? Gonna swap the memory soon, just wanna make sure I download the right file from Uncle Benny's blog. thanks guys.

If I'm not wrong, it should be Exfat right? Nvm, I might wanna check the format when I got home tonight.

sweat.gif Mine got but very soft, my ear need to be right next to the charger to hear it. It is actually not a hissing, more like a very fast vibration. People says its caused by the high freq transformer required for fast charging rate and greatly reduce the size of the adapter. Thats the reason why we have such a small adapter head (almost similar to S2 size) but can charge twice as fast. sweat.gif

People with exploding charger should go make a report on the safety of the adapter head to SIRIM or some certification/safety body and CC to samsung malaysia.

sounds like the charger is pushed to market earlier before thorough QC inspection. and btw is S3 using 2A charger as well?

Still didn't manage to replace my charger. Went there just now during lunch hour, wow the queue was crazy.

Long story short, will go to LYP again later. My fourth and hopefully last visit. doh.gif

My no. was 1089 and when I took my number it was 1047... Imagine the queue just for "repair". Something wrong with their QC I guess.

64 GB is default exFAT. And there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED to format it again. You can use it right out of the box

Format by default on note 2 should be exfat. Only pc format you can choose fat32 or exfat.

My charger exploded last month (black marks all over the charger body), got immediate replacement from SME service center in JB. That charger did not have the hissing sound before it exploded, I used it for like 2 weeks.

But the replacement charger got hissing sound straight away when switched on. I went back to complain, the technician there tested 3-4 other new chargers all got hissing sound. His conclusion is that the hissing sound is normal for Note 2 sad.gif
So I could not get a replacement for this hissing problem.

Many says that it should not be normal... quite funny i find in your technician there.

Can I use this analogy, one patient died of other cause. another patient diagnosed with AIDS, but there are also AIDS found on other patients, but this problem cannot be fixed. So the conclusion is AIDS is normal. lol...

Frankly if u ask the aunty that sweep the floor she will also say charger got hissing sound is not normal. Dun need technician/engineer for that.

But you must know the fact, the note 2 adapter is different from other older adapters cos of its charging speed and small size. The technology/component used can/will be different. Thus u cannot conclude that hissing sound is abnormal as it could be totally normal.

Conclusion --> Samsung need to make a formal announcement.

There are already some videos on youtube. brows.gif But it is not an issue for me. Dun really hear it unless my ear totally next to the adapter

Some users are worried (people get worried/scare of abnormal and unknown things. normal human reaction. rolleyes.gif ). Hence why this discussion is ongoing for so long.... but frankly talking about it here is doing nothing to help but just create more fear. tongue.gif

What data? TB does not backup "physical" data like your office documents, photos, songs, etc. These youhave to manually backup to sd card ,pc, cloud, etc.

It only backups apps, settings, sms, contacts etc.

Guys is there anyway we can edit our phone t9 dictionary? For example when i try to type "haha", "haga" also will come out. due to previously wrongly type. I realize the auto detect words is getting more and more typo day by day.

I heard that our screen itself is good and strong enough to protect the screen. They already apply some nano stuff in it (Factory Default).

So by adding SP just to play safe (Insurance shield)

guess what... i've found the culprit of battery drain!! it's the damn Email Exchange which I've set to use the hotmail!! now the device sleep >85% over the total time after I've removed the hotmail... sweat.gif

u r using stock email app ?
I think why email app is consuming the battery juice because it push from mail server.

Currently im using Hotmail app (downloaded from Play Store) and configure it to push my email every 15mins & only push at 8am-7pm. So far so good.

Maybe u can try to configure it to sync every 5mins instead of push notification.

You are right. I just untick the contacts sync, but the list already imported and appear at the SMS receipient list. Any suggestion on how to remove these contacts?

Also, sometimes i accidently clear the updates notification. How do I update the apps in this case?

I have posted before that it takes me 5hrs to charge from 30% - 100% and I thought it is the charger problem. After I tried to charge in my other room it only take not more than 2hrs to charge from 15% - 100%. I guess the current in my computer room is not that stable...phew it saves me to go to Samsung's SC.

but i heard ppl say if disable what what SU can ok ady....u tried ?

Why would you want sound while in a conversation? I find the sound annoying. I prefer quiet.

If you really want all the sounds, Settings>Notifications>Conversation tones

yes u can also go to telco get them to cut it using a micro sim cutter without changing your choice.
We recommended you to change to a micro sim

ahhh...face problem with my phone network. When got 3g/H+(data able to use smoothly) = can't use normal sms (can't send out/receive)/call also got problem. when data only E, can call out n sms normally rclxub.gif

try my sim with another phone, no problem. update my kernel to latest perseus alpha 26.1 still same. think gonna re-format back the whole thing to stock this saturday after my exam. rclxub.gif doh.gif cry.gif

when u using custom rom its very hard to identify the problem because its out of its ordinary form.

Added on December 4, 2012, 10:11 pmit depends i got so many numbers i have never get an actual micro sim nearly all are cut by micro sim cutter. Sometimes depends how they cut if they cut into the sim part sometimes might get effected

Ipad 3 - Celcom SKMM cut to micro sim
Lumia 900 - Maxis SKMM ask seller to cut to micro sim
Note 2 - Postpaid cut to microsim at maxis
Lumia 800 - Hotlink prepaid (4 years validity ) cut to microsim from shop last time charge me RM15 i

I have successfully swapped the memory, credit to Uncle Benny Lee.
but I have duplicate of almost everything in the gallery. such as camera and etc. how to solve this? just ignore it?

by the way, first time flashing to a custom kernel, how do I identify this perseus kernel in the "about device" under settings?

what is the quickest way to flash everything back to factory setting as if like a new phone just bought from the shop?

1) triangleaway to reset the flashing counter
2) factory restore.

Is this correct? thanks.

Long story short. Got my replacement charger, finally.

From Pandan Capital Mall centre. Very long and it was an epic journey with Samsung centres. I hope this is the last time I will visit them. doh.gif

Both LTE version laaa... The bottom video was on ALJ3, top one was on ALJ5, fast a lot biggrin.gif

I haven't tried Non-LTE version yet

anyone tried D3O casing before? Looks tempting, feel like ripping out the D3O sheets from the tech21 case to put in better looking cases =D

Am wondering if the impact proof technology really works here..

Well I was on browsing and gaming exclusively with mild Gmail refresh which is why I don't turn on my sync but I still find it great battery life as I had hardcore gaming today

DIY my S-Pen just now to adjust the sensitivity. Working fine now but cannot help but notice the dent on the edge of the button where I stick a blade to it when I open it. Heart pain liao

The wireless charging won't go to 2A I'm afraid. I read somewhere in XDA that it's the limitation of the induction technology itself.

when in GSM mode, able to make call/sms but unable to do data related task.

in auto, it frequently mess up which calls to my phone will be unavailable. any advice? stock rom rooted, stock kernel. hmm.gif

i dun think i'm at a problematic area. eg. pavilion area./ genting kelang.
i realize both GSM / WCDMA mode only works great, but only for 1 task instead of getting H+, also able to receive call. doh.gif
same to my iphone 4. previously thought its digi problem, but after switching to maxis, still d same. therefore wonder does you guys had d same problem i had. (in a very good location area,not problematic area)

Uncle, tried to find in ebay and aliexpress but seems to me the price almost the same and have to wait few weeks sumore. tongue.gif Oh, managed to get it cheaper IF only I buy it in bulk >10 though.

Original samsung induction charger not yet being launched if not mistaken, they only went into production around October this year most probably will be launching for sale around Q1 2013. (take my opinion with a grain of salt tongue.gif)

Well, can't remember where I read it but N2 was designed with capability of wireless charging, so once they launch their wireless charging kit it will support N2 as well as S3 and future models, hence they call it Wireless Charging "Kit" as of 2 pieces hardware?

i beg to differ
it has its uses and different purpose

i think its great because i can just slap my phone on top of the mat and it starts charging, i grab it when i go off for meetings / toilet / coffee / lunch

when i'm back just put it back on the mat

the cost might not justify the slightly more convenience of having not to plug in and the slower charging rate though notworthy.gif

So it means you have good cables. Those that come with Bluetooth devices or other small items have crappy cables.

Then, below the google search bar, click on the Gmail and you will see Contacts.

After that, click on the More>find and merge duplicate.

Done.

To join the contact, simply press the menu key at the contact(For example Albert) and you will see Join Contact.

i stored the contacts in my phone previously.

Added on December 5, 2012, 3:10 pmfound it, contacts to display, can choose from phone, sim, gmail and etc...
will export my contact to gmail.

What phone are you using previously?

Supposing all the contact is saved to Google account. Have you performed any sync between u phone and internet?

Go to settings>Account>Google>(Your Google account)>Tick the Sync Contacts.

Don't panic, follow the step below:
1) Take out the battery!
2) Wait for 10s
3)Put it in
4) Press Volume UP + Home + Power and wait for 2 times the Word (Something like N7100) appear
5) Use volume up and down to navigate and power button to select.
6) Select Clear data/factory reset. rclxms.gif

anyone here uses usb OTG? i think usbstorageunmountter bug(endless wakelock) is still present...im using stock rom though with unmodded system ui

anyone having the the bug with custom rom? any input is very much appreciated

update: i read that it presents in almost all samsung devices. the service is activated when u unmount usb from the pulldown notification. however this will not occur if u unmount usb in settings>storage or just yank out the usb

Anyone here use the latest Redpill or Perseus and manage to get the Memory swap to work? I have tried both but I fail to get the phone to detect its own internal memory. Downgrading to older Redpill made it work again.

I have tested redpill 0.9 n now on latest perseus 2.7
Not advisable to use redpill S is buggy
Stick to perseus
Both work
Use solid explorer to detect your drives

I'm benchmarking omega 7.3 default kernel performance now (batt life), will load in the Perseus 27.4 tomorrow and redo the benchmark to give approx. batt consumption different of both... yawn.gif

The only two bug I encounter with Rep pill
1) Android os shows high count on battery usage but this is just a display bug so totally not important
2) external sd is at sdcard 1 and symlink to extsdcard. Not really a bug cos it's intentional. This causes problem for people that do memory swap.

Faster charging create more heat. Charging with 2a will create more heat than 1a.
