if you swipe rm1000 just to get the bag, it might not that worth.. but if it is your usual swipe, of course free gift are the best thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I just called in to ask for a waiver for my ANNUAL FEES and GST for my CB Premier Miles Visa Signature.

Last year I spend close to 40k on my CC.
They were only waiving my annual fees and didn't want to waive my GST.

But they offered me to spend RM2000 within 3 months to waive my RM50 GST which I thought it wasn't worth it as my MAYBANK 2 AMEX can give me RM50 rebates every month anyway (i'm forced to upspend).

Eventually I asked them to cancel the card to make way for my ALLIANCE VISA INFINITE smile.gif

MAYBANK 2 AMEX = RM1.40 per enrich mile for local spending
CB PM VI : RM 4.11 per enrich mile for both local/ overseas spending
ALLIANCE VISA INFINITE : RM1.20 per enrich mile for overseas spending

I have been paying Citibank CBP card using CIMBClicks Interbank Fund Transfer for months and paid only 10 cents.

Don't make any immediate interbank fund transfer. Just do a normal one.
*
Just the normal Interbank Fund Transfer right?
With card's account no and holder name?

Mind to guide how to make interbank fund transfer from CIMB?

I tried asking CITI tolfree, but they don't seem to know.

Thanks in advance.

It is under 'Transfer to other banks', you will need to select the recipient bank, fill up account number, amount, etc

I spent average 2k per month in 2013 and month december I spent 5k. I call officer, the waive has successful done.

I think citibank is not only look at how much you spend, they also look at have you pay it on time.

Received my citibank cc yday. No time to activate it yet. I got offer to get trolley bag or thermal pot without spending 1k. As long as I do 3 swipes within a month to get the free gift and waived the gst. I opted for the thermal pot although I don't think it costs $300 as claimed.

Wah so nice, your credit card is cash back platinum? The Sales agent attending to me say that 3 swiptes within a month only forgoes the GST and annual fee. To get the bag, an amount of RM1000 need to be swipe... hmm.gif

the officer i spoke with explains that policies have changed. also, every card issued during certain campaigns carry different rules on waivers and cashback rebate (for gst). now, the info u gave says they make "deals" like spend this and that to get it. my deal was discounted redeemed points!

agree. payment punctuality over many years is a plus to them, will easily get af waiver.
still, gst is diff story now, much harder.

it doesn't matter whether the policy has changed.

when i signed up for the card, they gave me a priority pass which was then revoked a few months after. am not too happy about that.

at that time, miles redemption was okay, until they introduced AMEX premier miles. i felt that "this is bullshit".

Luckily I can get Alliance visa infinite which gives me a better redemption on miles and a priority pass for unlimited entries. this is way much better.

and spending close to 40k on their credit card and they don't even want to give me a GST waiver? forget it.

I rather get a cashback card.

i am using my maybank 2 cards amex. this has really good 5% cashback up to rm50 monthly. that's rm600 a year.

with x5 points for every purchase. damn good. after conversion, redemption is RM1.40 per enrich mile.

Premier miles VI is RM4.11 whilst premier miles AMEX is RM2.
they killed the card.

as for travel options, i took alliance visa infinite. their conversion is RM1.2 per enrich mile for overseas spending and unlimited airport entries worldwide via priority pass

Yes, cash back card called business platinum visa. Ok, I think it was within a month 3 swipes. Thanks for reminding me. Then I better use the card soon. The offer seems to be over for not having to spend the 1k. Dunno true or not la.

wan7075, agent confirmed with me a few times. Our calls and emails went back and forth due to the holidays or me being busy. So far she did follow up on the procedures such as the calls need to be recorded during the verbal application process. I called up her ext at Citibank. She called me at my office, etc. Let's see how it goes. smile.gif

Oh, I did tell her I don't want the card she offered if I had to spend 1k. This card would not be my main cc.

It is balancing act as long as the ratio NPL is low then banks would be alright

usually the ratio would be 5:1 these days for unsecured credit
