What do you mean "gst (government service tax) is diff story now"?

haiz... i reply at risk of post being deleted as mods/admin do not like discussion on gst. u know that, dun u?

wat i mean is: this bank use to give cashback rebate to offset gst in the past. it is taboo to call it a waiver as banks have no right to waive since it is a gomen charge and gomen is big-big, must pay, yes?

i used to get it easy all these years but now, they tell me, policy change, etc. so, need points to redeem albeit discount. and u read someone else was told to spend this n that to get the cashback.

if u have no issue getting yr next gst cashback rebate, good 4 u.

actually, all i hear n read, all banks are squeezing on freebies be they cashback, waivers, points, watever...

perhaps, one day, we'll see 10% discount on any cash payment, we can all dump our cards! tongue.gif

that will be in your dreams cool2.gif

anyway banks are not stingy but the consumers would be the big spenders who pay for everything suffers as they do not enjoy the benefits. It should be tier mechanism for some cashback, waiver and points so that the consumer are aware of the benefits instead

not like some rich cheapskates who spends a couple thousand the whole yr asking for waiver doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

Citibank have treated me wll compared to some other banks too bad their consumer banking products like savings and deposits are not that attractive otherwise they would have dominate the banking scene in thse country which useless with protective mechanism for all sectors

tomorrow i have to pick CC at jalan ampang branch there, after i blocked my own CC (not yet active) by calling their CS. thought that my CC was sent to wrong address (and PosLaju so kind of giving the receipient IC no), after the double check, it was received by my bro, and he didnt inform me at all.

damn it.

then i called CS to unblock my card.
unfortunately they cant unblock the card, so they advise me to wait for them to send in my card. i told CS that i will collecting tomorrow at jalan ampang there. no need any paper (epf, payslip etc) as my approval had been approved.

some banks don't allow anybody else except yourself (including close family members like father/mother/siblings/husband/wife) to collect the cc on behalf.

I think for PosLaju, anyone in the house (recipient address) will be allowed to sign and receive it.

not really, if the sender (bank) stated that the content is credit card, only the recipient can collect it.
i remember clearly there's once my wife asked me to collect her item from poslaju center (because we were away from home when poslaju came). she passed me her original nric (not photocopy) for me to show the staff in order to collect the item. but i was told by the staff that the content was cc and it was the instruction from the bank that only the recipient can collect it for security reason. sweat.gif

You can fill the authorization section in the returned card from the mail man if your package is failed to deliver right?

not sure about the authorisation section because i did not really read it. blush.gif

but i used to collect courier items for my wife most of the time and never face any problem collecting it when i show my nric is the same address with the item address.

only for that one time when the staff told me that the content was cc and nobody is allowed to collect on behalf (of course maybe i could if there's an authorisation section which i have missed out).

new update.

called citiphone at 12.30pm, told them that i gonna take the card at 1.30pm (1 hour). the CS agreed, and set my details up at their HQ.

went there, straight to 1st floor. the service is good, very fast also.
the staff hand me a card, and told me that the card will be active on 6.00pm (whatttt ?). then i ask them why so late to activate, he told me the system is like that (i assume he doesnt know why), but he offered help to activate within 30 minutes. since i am quite rushing at that time, i left him my phone no so he can contact me once the card is activated.

he called and yes, the card activate within that time.

good service i received from citibank so far.

just a recap, how many of the forumers here have the Citi Prestige MasterCard World Elite?
i just got mine last month and am having a blast.

there are other people in another thread (for example Mr.GenXYZ) complaining that the card has lower points and he is not willing to pay RM 1K. i wonder how many actually got it. because anyone who travels a lot would benefit the card. i have used the card so much that I have easily got back by 1K within 2 months.

citibank ten lifestyle concierge is simply awesome.

the pathetic maybank visa infinite allows only 5 trips via priority pass (which requires an annual income of 180K)
this citi prestige card has no limits.

frequent travelers using air asia or other economy airlines who are eligible should really apply for this card.
skip the free comission hogging agents, they are not able to give you any extra offers for this card, apply direct.

how do you even get back your 1k?

its points multiplier is indeed low

alliance visa infinite too has priority pass; unlimited.

also, could you share your experience and elaborate on the prestige concierge?

the good additional benefits are:

- limo ride home w/ 3 swipes
- starwood privileges

2nd year is a long time. most likely not, but by that time there would be newer cards
for example few years ago, platinum was king
then came titanium
then came visa infinite/mastercard world
this is mastercard world elite
i would consider changing next year.

spend 3K within the first 3 months and get a Nikon 1J2 camera with additional lens worth 2K++ (current value for bargain at lowyat is 1.6K). or if you think this camera is bullshit and inferior, you will get Rm900 credited to your account the 3rd month. so your actual expensive is RM100 + RM50 for government tax. book a nice golf session with your friends in singapore or tropicana or fly air asia to australia or something, get to use the lounge there which is shared with some business class airlines, then book a one for one hotel room, you can more than your money's worth. so far i have booked 3 golf sessions (turned down once due to full house) and used my priority pass about 20 times.

the plus:
mastercard world elite concierge is better then visa infinite from my experience
alliance bank does not give you the world elite features such as one for one hotel stays and golfing green fees.
maybank has this with their own program but the booking is always full and has a quota for card members per day.
world elite has a quota too but i believe the limit is higher judging from my experience that i rarely get turned down.

cons:
yes the points multiplier is low, therefore i use my premier miles for shopping
reserve this card for overseas spending because it gives better protection and insurance in case the purchased item goes bad.
limo ride home is nothing, it comes free with visa premier miles a well. there are tons of people queuing at the counter at KLIA pathetically? do you feel privileged nah....
