Have the developers fixed the memory leak problem?
The reason I use tofu11 instead of this is because of the memeory leaks and has to be rebooted every week or so.

I tried using DD-WRT a couple of years back, did the stability problems that forced me to restart the router every week or so has been resolved? Anyone here can get long uptimes under heavy P2P load without hanging?

Hmmm... just installed DD-WRT v23 SP2, and will see whether the stability has improved.
edit: What is that RP PPPoE thing? Different from the normal PPPoE? This post has been edited by asellus: Aug 20 2007, 09:26 PM |

Is it just me, but if I manually disconnect/connect the PPPoE session, I will be disconnected from the network (wireless) for about 10-20 seconds (depending on how long handshake will take)? This is really annoying.
If PPPoE disconnects by itself (Streamyx/TM problems), that wireless disconnect will not happen. |

QUOTE(kingmax @ Aug 26 2007, 02:33 PM) I am very sure the shop doesn't sell buffalo router , even WRT54GL they didn't have not to mention other model. WRT54G v 2.2 works fine here. Although I wonder what will happen if the free memory count decreased to zero. At the first moment I start the router, it has 2.4MB of RAM left. Now after 5 days, only 1.9MB is left. And it never recovers. So , any WRT54G user who satisfied or runs smooth without any problem ? My pet-peeve is that I will be temporarily disconnected from the router if I manually disconnect the PPPoE session. Will have to wait until Windows reconnect to the router back before I can access the web config again. |

I think for that need to load v23 SP2 first via TFTP then upgrade to RC4 via web interface.

Hmmm... for me the speed is just the same between RC-3 and RC-4. RC-4 has the added advantage of not taking too much memory. Now I always have more than 3MB RAM left instead of 700k-900k in RC-3.

QUOTE(gsan @ Oct 16 2007, 02:11 PM) you mean by press and hold the button behind the router? I only do restore to factory setting before and after flashing. Yeah, hard-reset by pressing it for 30 seconds at least while the router is on.Maybe Eko's code that fixed the memory leak problem does not make it for the WRT54G firmware yet. |

QUOTE(blackorange @ Oct 19 2007, 11:27 AM) ok, i've disabled all port forwading... 12% is still pretty decent I think. What is the load of the router?and i'm using deluge torrent client... when it achieved max speed, connecting to the router seems lagging... suppose internet bandwidth did not affect the connection to the router right? the free memory is at 12% care to enlighten me? |

I think it is the DD-WRT. What version did you use now?
