Hi guys, I just upgraded from 512 to 4mb streamyx yesterday and I can only get 1.6mbps download speed today. Should I wait a bit or should I call 100 now to complain? My modem stats below and I noticed the rate is the same as before -- Rate (Kbps): 2045 509 ?

facfil, I don't quite understand...does that mean the technician has not come around my place to open the 4mb port yet?

Have you signed the blue form yet? it you haven't, do call the assigned tech to your place. They'll contact TM and TM will open the port according to your subscription, if possible ask the tech to open at 5mbps.

Well, I did the upgrade at my local tmpoint and the desk guy said that the tech will call me. I can't call the tech since I don't have any numbers. Should I wait a bit for him to call me or check with 100?

Check here http://sams.tm.net.my/MarketingCenter/search.asp enter you current streamyx id and the system will tell you the contact no of the assigned technician to your house.

Edit: Called 100 and they said my upgrade is queued but the tech has not been assigned yet though scheduled to come tomorrow.

did you consistently get 40ms last time?

i never get 40ms when i'm using 1Mbps...now at 4Mbps...i get 50+ms is considered good for me and very happy...

ur ping is quite high... my average ping is 17-22ms

last time.. sometimes got ping up to hundreds! but then it was a temporary la.. maybe got problem at tm... or problem from the line. u cant try reset the modem.. wait about 30 sec. if always high ping.. u should try call 100 and complaint

After installing 4mbps... I always get 4-4.5mbps download speed.. but a terrible upload speed of 200kbps and alower....
and also... the connection will be cut of.. for about 20-30secs randomly... within a period of every 1 @ 2 hours...

After a few calls to the TM... a techinician called me just now..explaining stuff...

he said that...the truth is... my area (or cabinet...) didn't really support 4mbps.... just 2 mbps...Altho the system said that the maximum is 4mbps... using it will be unstable... Thats why im getting a terrible upload speed and frequwnr disconnection...

he suggest me to downgrade to 2mbps for a smoother connection...
and since i dont want... he'll need to reduce my caps (which i think is more that 4mbps right now...) to see if it'll make any difference...

2nd, try other modem, i got the same disconnection problem, need to restart the modem always, then i throw that crappy modem that TM give, and buy new DLINK modem, no drop at all, smoooth until now.

Before this.. when I'm on 1mbps package... i did manage go get around 500kbps for upload speed....
But a few months ago, I downgrade my package to basic 384kbps... I think around that time, my upload speed is still OK..

Just that when I reupgrade my package to the 4mbps one... the upload speed is soooo slow...
so right now... not sure if what's the technician said is true or not...

And yeah... IF there's unifi in my place... I think I'll be the one who jumps package first ..

I've been using my own modem DLink 2540T for few years now... (I think... 4-5 years maybe... ) So, donno if it's time to change the modem already or not...

Just want to ask is that the speed will auto increase once the port cap is rise upon reconnect

After the upgrade, the technician didn't show the test speed results for your review?

Normally after upgrade complete immediately obtain corresponding speed.

For my experience,when I upgraded to 1M>4M>8M, the technical come to my house test & upgrade on the spot,immediately increase the speed,then show me the speed test results.

I think you should contact the technician to solve this problem!

After upgrade the port. it test a feel time still show 1mbps speed and he ask me try in 24 to 48 hour to let system

update the account speed and it said the port signal is upgraded and is no problem for the speed.

but now is nearly 72~96 hour already. will contact the technician when home.

btw my signal SNR info and the speed cap is correct for 4mbps speed right?
