hi...i had ask some of tm dealer and they told me my location can support 4mbps but the problems is my SNR margin quite low.So, i afraid thats the reason i cant get 4mbps

The rules of higher SNR and lower attenuation is the key here, if they are installing 4mbps for you I am afraid the speed performance will be below satisfaction.

can i improve my SNR margin if i ask them to change the wire from the telephone pole or just check the wire for me?

Yes, you can always ask them to change the cabling from pole to your house, they'll send over the contractor to do the job but with some charges. For a beginning you can replace the splitter and try different modem/router, some ppl find their line quality much improved.

oh...but i just apply an upgrade to 4mbps last week~so i guess the technician will check for me on next couple of days,if they found out my SNR margin is below the requirement....will they change the wire for me?or they just suggest me to downgrade

I need a little help here. Im staying in cyberjaya and my housemate just switched the internet from 2mb
to 4mb. tm guys gave us a new modem. innacomm w3400v6. Now my wifi is horrible. i cant even load google on my laptop. other housemates also having the same problem. i know it isnt my laptop problem as i was back in kl and the wifi worked fine. currently using my phone to post this. Cant tahan this line. Any suggestions what to do?

Sometime, the SNR may cause by your own house telephone line problem. If they use the device to test the wire end before enter your house, the SNR is high, then you may want to re-lay your house cable.

did the BT throttling back again?

Anyone facing torrent throttle? I am looking at 5kbs when connected to 40 peers thats 100%

I just 260 meter from the DSLAM and got the almost perfect signal...
But... still can't get the 4Mbps package as the DSLAM of mine actually a remote DSLAM.
And that one actually 4.35KM from the MDF.

But why the remote DSLAM distance count into the total distance? I thought DSLAM and MDF connected via ATM is enough to provide 4Mbps package.

The good technician will advice you the true situation either you are good to proceed or not. Some will just set up for you without really care the overall quality. Laying out new cables will be done by different contractor and not by the the technician. If you are thinking to change the new cable you have to go to TM Point and ask them, they'll assign a new wiring contractor to do the job. Please be remember streamyx technician/installer and wiring contractor are not the same.

hi guys..i saw some advetise on internet said they can boost up streamyx 384 or 512 kbps or 1mbps user speed..

they r many service offered ny scumbag rite now targetting streamyx 384 or 512 kbps user to boost their streamyx a higher speed like they are using 2mbps or 4mbps streamyx account..maybe the service provider will charge them between rm100 or rm200 ...i think their modus operandi by hijack 4mbps user account...result of that maybe 4mbps account owner who be hijack got slor or prob..

i just guess but no proof..if this r true hope this scumbag thrown into jail immedietely..

I have a good signal from the wifi. normally would be around 4-5 bars. Even so I cant load anything. The router is just about 10 meters away from me passing through 2 walls.

i called 100 to upgrade my streamyx from 512kbps to 4mbps jus now.. they checked my phonenumber and say my area got 4mbps coverage.. now waiting for technician to come to my house.. so excited!! ;d

is there anything i need to ask the techinician about?

and oh yeah, if you have any problem with your internet, immediately contact TM, not come and rant in forum first as you can see there's tones of rants goes unreported in various threads because they decides to kecoh here instead of reporting problem.
