QUOTE(nymerine @ Nov 25 2012, 02:08 PM) You can but the connectivity will be terrible with SNR margin that low Nope, it's just fine here, make sure you file a complaint to them. Streamyx works in mysterious way, you might want to check few pages back, we already discussed and dismissed this matter. Also check : https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2555639what you mean by terrible connectivity? it means that i will dc frequently? is there anyway to change my SNR margin? thanks in advance

QUOTE(nymerine @ Nov 25 2012, 08:50 PM) No such thing, probably a system glitch. Yes, your snr margin will go lower when you're given higher speed. Lower the SNR margin, higher the rate of disconnection. You can't change your SNR Margin. wa...so even changing copper wire or change a new port also unable to increase my SNR margin? does it means that i have to moved to somewhere else to get better speed?@@

guys....i just upgrade my package to 4mbps today and i just notice that my SNR margin has been dropped from 17db to 9db >.<"
so,you guys think that my housing area can support 4mbps? or the contractor will hlp me to check the wiring in order to achieve higher snr margin?

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Dec 1 2012, 09:00 PM) The rules of higher SNR and lower attenuation is the key here, if they are installing 4mbps for you I am afraid the speed performance will be below satisfaction. can i improve my SNR margin if i ask them to change the wire from the telephone pole or just check the wire for me?

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Dec 2 2012, 06:47 AM) Yes, you can always ask them to change the cabling from pole to your house, they'll send over the contractor to do the job but with some charges. For a beginning you can replace the splitter and try different modem/router, some ppl find their line quality much improved. oh...but i just apply an upgrade to 4mbps last week~so i guess the technician will check for me on next couple of days,if they found out my SNR margin is below the requirement....will they change the wire for me?or they just suggest me to downgrade
