can i improve my SNR margin if i ask them to change the wire from the telephone pole or just check the wire for me?
*
Sometime, the SNR may cause by your own house telephone line problem. If they use the device to test the wire end before enter your house, the SNR is high, then you may want to re-lay your house cable. sweat.gif

any helps?
it keep dc

The downstream SNR look good. This is capture on day time, or night time?
Should be while internet running good? U might want to capture it night time... mostly internet SNR got affected at night.

Also, your modem SNR value is changing, or constant? Some modem just show initial value, and never changing... the SNR value actually is constantly up/down... if you have a modem that show SNR value up/down, it more easy to debug.

i just took it around 8pm i think....
maybe i try with Tplink modem....
but i try run speed test...the speed i get is around 2000++ before this was 4000++
keep dc too..
Your SNR and Line Attenuation look good. If the value continue to stay at this, it should be fine.
Would it be Telekom side port / hardware problem? Anyway, do your TPLink modem SNR value change from time to time to reflect the real SNR value? Not all modem support this, some modem only capture the value 1 time, and display that value forever although in real case it fluctuate. If your modem with real time SNR value display, it more easy to root-cause ur problem.

thanks for your help...

Your dc issue happen in night only? Can you try at day time? Just want to confirm is TM side problem, or your problem. If in day time (9am - 4pm) your streamyx is okay and no DC, and the DC happen in night time only, this would tell is electrical noise issue that causing the DC.

So just wondering how to solve this problem?
Change the cooper wire?

Check your route of telephone cable, from back of your house (for terrace, normally come from back) till the port. Is the phone line cross any electrical line, or power line. If yes, that electrical line always got ON at night only? When you keep facing DC, try off that particular electrical device and restart your modem, and monitor whether it DC again.....

Hope this help... By the way, if possible, avoid the phone line cross any electrical power line. It induce noise.

Buy lately there is no more Dc
Connected. But you can't surf the net.. Always happen around 1am.
Can't login lowyat. Fb or YouTube or do speed test
Even try the speed test. Is stuck 0 speed.
*
Try observed another few day, not sure it due to TM service their gateway/exchange.
Anyway, previously I did faced the DC/slow issue, but after I re-route my phone line, all DC issue gone. Turn on modem for 1 week and no restart totally no problem... Speed also constant, except for TM issue where it impact all users...

Rm140 BB deal for home use de

Rm198 for my shop de, as shop cant register BB deal zzzzz , and is that different using soho vs streamyx?
*
If you not looking for "unlimited" surfing in your shop, or not provide FREE internet to client, may be you just go for wireless plan like P1. U got to save more..... Except you predict will be high quota needed.

Anyway, may be you can try ask whether can sign-up for TM-Wifi provider in your shop. I saw a number of shops doing that...

As long as the problem not come again, it consider solve and can enjoy your 4mbps lo.
ADSL technology is like that, noise and cable quality issue affect the speed. Actually ADSL can go up to 10mbps, but I guess telekom not dare to roll out, as will let people complaint till pengsan.

Some other country they offer service base on data quota, so the speed they give max to user.

This is the reason why telekom push for fiber to home, Unifi. As fiber optic once setup, it will consistent and no intermittent / noise issue. Anyway, I wait for Unifi come to my taman... argh... tongue.gif

Use telekom own speed test website, to test the connection between home and port...

http://58.27.105.110/index2.php?239419500

Sometime internet may slow due to other problem, as long as not the cabling issue, this test will show speed test of 4mbps.

what a surprise...i found out that my plan has been set to i Mbps speed..just a few days ago my hometown house count receive internet connection at all and my father called the 100 and later on the internet is back on but my father dint realize that the speed has change to 1 Mbps..

How they could do this ? i knew its my father fault by not verifying the speed before told the Tm everything its OK..but they should know that they have set it to 1 Mbps speed to my account..
i already lodge a report to them and waiting for their 24 hours respond..
*
If it is TM problem, they should be able to fix it for you, just worry is own house old cable issue. Give them 1-2 days and make sure you at home. tongue.gif

It depend on the down-stream rate TM set at their system. If they set higher, then u get faster download speed.

RM 18 x 12 month = RM216 extra spending... sweat.gif
If the upload speed higher, might consider. Now my bottleneck is upload speed, not download speed. Unifi not available in my area.

From your copy paste, your line is 2mbps only... The negotiate speed with the server only 2047 Kbps.

Downstream Line Rate (Kbps): 2047

QUOTE(kalisair @ Jan 25 2013, 11:30 PM)
I updated my 1Mbps to 4Mbps via online 1 week ago.. But my speedometer just 1.7Mbps.. They upgraded my line remotely (according to 100 cust service).. but my modem D-Link DSL-2640B modem shows

Downstream Line Rate (Kbps): 2047
Upstream Line Rate (Kbps): 511

SNR Margin (dB):Down/Up 31.1/28.2
Attenuation (dB):Down/Up 20.5/10.8

Is there anything I need to do in setting up my modem? I called 100 and report the problem, the guy just noted my case, give the ref no and told me someone will e contacting me within 24hours ... but it's >24hours already..

Help is needed here, desperately... many thanks
