i know right..currently still in the process of preparing my resume. I know the interviews are gonna be tough, but... just try to apply first and see if i managed to get call for interview.

btw im graduated from australia, business degree, major in acct and finance. Prefer to join oversea banks compared to local ones. To be honest, i have good grades and CGPA of 3.5 but when it comes to relevant or specialized skills, duhhh i have no working experience relating to accounting/finance/investment! And i'm not really clear about current finance issue in msia or singapore, i guess this thing would put me into great disadvantage sad.gif But I'm reading on some finance magazines to brush myself up with all those current issues, hopefully it helps.

one more thing, what position can a freshgrad apply as for their first job? Most of my degree coursemates which are working in msia local banks, mostly working under sales banking (ie sell credit card or some sort of banking marketing job), basic salary rm2.8k. Is this the entry job for freshgrad? need to start off with marketing stuffs before getting into credit or loan department etc? o.o and whats the salary range for freshgrad in sg?
*
Wah... Why you say until banking sales like very degrading thing to do? Do you know that everything a bank does ties back to sales. Where do you think the bank gets its money from?
Front line people are usually the ones with the million dollar paycheck wining and dining with the who's who like you see on wallstreet films. Not some analyst working till 1am everyday pushing keyboards and crunching numbers. Those get paid peanuts and work long hours for not much mote than a local sme salary.

Then for warranty claim carry back to JB ? Custom side shouldn't be a problem, just declare it. With all the hassle, might as well just get in Sg. Or best get an heavyweight Alienware laptop.

Risk and return.

SG private property is as close to risk free as you can get, with the sole risk factor being the govt not allowing foreigners and non-residents to buy.

For a salary man to dump RM500K into a business in Malaysia which he doesn't run on a daily basis, doesn't know the industry nor the players etc... all I can say is come talk to me. I can set you up as an investor in any number of businesses in Malaysia. Anything you want, I can set you up. Just bring the cash, and my associates will run the business profitably for you.
*
Risk free is a perception. On that notion, you should have invested into real estate developer which only focuses in SG and effectively it’s “risk free”. Given the number of interventions over the past 5 years, the “sole risk” is no longer a risk but an ongoing implementation.

Let’s not get carried away with the magnitude or business execution, but at the context of opportunity cost for a salaried man with substantial savings relative to his salary. Niche, business network, and familiarity are factors you can’t ignore before venturing into a business. That’s a given. Right now, SG property is not worth considering for a foreigner and even so from an opportunity cost standpoint.

Was looking at future Singapore land zoning. East coast park will be without the coast. And Sentosa is consider "green" zone? To me it's as busy crowdy as Bugis.

I rather everything goes up higher than chopping bulldozing trees.
*
They talk about all residents having 10-15mins walk to park. I'm sure their defination of park is not just a couple of trees.
Anyway, 2030, too far down the road. I might be retired by then.

no, i went to local kolej teknikal but drop out cause no $$$, that's why i am now in sg to make some $$$ hopefully can continue my studies later... if i had graduated from UK... why do u think i work in sakae sushi..  doh.gif
eh, i thought they are going to move psa away and combine brani island with d main island..

looks like tuas is going to be expanded a lot..

say wanna make new cbd at jurong area... tipu ppl 1
*
Whether jurong, or woodlands can be CBD area not really depends entirely on gomen. Whether companies want to be located there or not. Gomen also talk about expanding commercial area in Marina Bay area. This doesn't sound like encouraging business to relocated to other places. I think the key is financial services need to relocate, because those are the businesses crowding in current CBD. They should implement incentives for business to relocate to jurong or woodlands.

That's what I'm saying. In order for business ventures to occur with such regularity, accessibility and with so little discrimination of knowledge that they become relevant alternatives (in terms of opportunity) to investing in Sg property - the success rate these ventures will have defy all logic and probability.

U heard 3k/month or per term(3mth)? If per term is aint that expensive for international school.

Eton preschool for toddlers 2-6: 7k per term
Ntuc/pap childcare for toddlers : 600/mth

@Samuel : work at restaurant/cafe pays 1.5k. So ur fren is either desperate or really shortchanged

Half the taikors posting here like seantang, mackiddo, keelim, mercury are elites earning 15-25k+++ monthly. Don't assume that Malaysians are universally low paid in SG because of your ONE friend. Although I understand how you feel cos I am low paid bank clerk as well.

Normally, freshgraduated will only apply for management trainee in M'sia banking!... Coz this programme is special for them coz many peoples join and leaved very often with a reason no interest to do banking jobs!... That's why they need to create those trainee programme for a year to test whether you're suitable in doing what kind of banking jobs!... You will be place in different departments for a few months untill you completed one year trainee programme then only u become their permanent staff or executive/ officer post!... After that, you will be throw to those departments that really short of man-power (see ur luck)!... Not many people like me straight away get a post without go to trainee programme!... You hv to extremely becareful when u work in banking!... Coz it's deal with very huge amount! Specially in FOREX in many currencies!... hahaha... The one with 2.8K salary in M'sia is P. Bank, right? My colleage also got this salary from this bank!... He worked in this company just 4months! His background quite similar with you!... He is also graduated from Australia major in accounting! He worked as auditor before!... Errrmmm.... As I said, if they convert you to permanent staff, they will throw you to whatever department or branch for urgent short of manpower (Usually, it is very high turnovers or less people want to work for those posts)! That's why u can see many are work as personal consultants (credit cards sales or etc)!... I got a few unimates work as Mortgage sales in oversea, sg and local banks!...They are doing quite well... As credit sales and mortgage sales can earns more n more $$$... That's why not much job opening for it!... Understand? Oh... Actually, if you want to apply for jobs in MNC it is same theory in banking!... They will only hire freshgradutes for management trainee!... That's why you can see they have a few column in career section (Ex: Management trainne programme, experienced employment, engineer or technical jobs)!... I don't know the salary range of banking jobs from sg!... You're still in Australia?

Of course they have bachelor degree lah... Else, how can pursue master? I heard of some of the universities can allow bachelor degree with 1st class honour can skip for master study and straight away get PhD study!... But, I never heard of without degree can study master wor.... smile.gif

Not necessary!... Who tell you that Degree holder cannot work in restaurants? Two example for you:
1. A friend from my colleague work in SG bread shop!... He hold UK degree!...
2. A private uni 1st class honour degree work as associate branch manager in fast food restaurant sg!... That's his 1st job in sg! Now, he managed to changed job and work in much more good company!

U are very good! How many years you're working in sg? Now, u have enoguh saving and can go to further study. SG got quite many institutions with offer overseas universities degree and master programme!...

So far, I know the highest pay is 2.8K for a freshgraduated in one of the bank in M'sia!... Many others banks pay even lower than this salary!... Quite many overseas banks in KL. Such as, BOFA, Scotia, Tokyo bank, SCB... The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd that I mentioned quite difficult to get!... But, u can try...

don't believe there's such a service in Taiping but JB definitely have. Last round I've hired a lorry to move my stuffs, they settle all the paperworks for Msia and Sg sides of immigration, inclusived of the declaration/taxes. You can actually go to their office and ask, it's just nearby the Msia custom entrance for lorries.
