Hmmm... not shaping up to be a good year for finance people in Sg.

QUOTE
But in Singapore, CFO salaries are essentially unchanged at S$240,000 to S$300,000, for medium and large companies, and S$300,000 to S$500,000, for multinationals. If you’re a newly minted financial controller, you might even be paid lower than your predecessor was in 2012.

According to Hays, FC salaries in Singapore this year can range from S$160,000 to S$220,000 a year. That’s 11% less than the lower end in 2012 (S$180,000) and a whopping 26% down at the upper end (S$300,000).

“The market-wide focus on cost reduction within most businesses impacted salaries,” observes Hays about the Singapore market. “We also saw that many employers made below market-rate offers in the hope that they could secure candidates for less than they are potentially worth.”

CFOs and Tax Directors in Singapore, though, are likely to be paid the same in 2013 as they were in 2012

Reference.

Sigh. Hopefully the market recovers in a year or so. Can't wait to get out.

no need. once you've done your fingerprinting at EPSC than can liao. just scan your passport at the auto gate and use your thumbprint. No need to even show your EP card to anybody.
*
But there is a label/board right before entering autogate stated... "singaporean/PR"... Yesterday I went to JB and tried autogate but it seems not working (means the machine rejected the passport reading and it's not about the issue of finger printing). When I passed manual gate, I asked the officer.. they said need to get access card. So, I checked to the official website and this morning I went to ICA Lavender for eIACS, the officer told me that I can just pass through autogate using passport. My EP was issued since Jan13.

Anyway, just scan the first page of M'sia passport without cover?

Just scan the first page of Msia passport (the page with picture and face down?). Take off the cover right?
Which exit? Tuas or woodlands or airport?

I tried airport 18th Friday... rejected.
Tried yesterday @ woodlands also rejected.
So weird.
Issuance of EP on 2 Jan, collection on 8 Jan, by right should be ok...

From his previous comments, it seems his friends don't know SG full stop and are bullsh*tting him left right and centre, yet he is taking their word as gospel and assuming that he is now an expert on all things SG icon_idea.gif

Yeah, but any long term pass holder also can use it. Funny story the other day I was queue'ing at Tuas and one Singaporean lady was looking damn lost and confused, turned and asked me "eh this lane Singaporeans cannot use ah?" Cos everyone around her holding non-Singapore passport lol.

Anyway according to ICA, "With effect from 5 April 2011, ICA has ceased issuing Access Cards." So everyone now uses passport 1st page can liao, no more access cards.

Yes. Like crazy25kid and IlikePanadol shared, we can all pass the autogate using passport and we never applied for anything also. I've passed at airport, woodlands, and tuas all also no problem. Even my fiancee last time on LTVP (long term pass) also can use autogate. caihong I really got no idea why he cannot use.

Your passport with the biometric chip? The MOM lady said since my passport is new with the chip, I will be able to enter/exit at the autogate.

Just ensure roadtax alive to buy autopass card.

If u read on LTA site, EP holder not allowed to drive foreign registered car into sg unless staying in johor/outside sg. While all this while there was no LTA inspection at the border, there is always risk to be caught violating the rules.

Furthermore, if u carry loads of stuff, you might be subjected to GST by the custom. Value <$150 for travelers out of sg 48hrs, <$400 for more than 48hrs.

Like many sgrean said, do what u want just don't get caught laugh.gif

Did he change the passport after the initial MOM registration ? Last time I could use my old passport but after I changed to a new passport (old one expired), cannot use autogate. The SG officer told me to go register the new passport number with some agency which I forgotten (not sure if direct to Immigration office as MOM have my latest passport number as after I changed passport and informed HR, they key in online). Just ask your friend to ask the officer where and how to enable the autogate process. I didn't bother with the re-registration but I can use the autogate now.

Normally the MOM data will snyc with immigration after a few weeks. Ask your friend to try after a couple of weeks / months smile.gif

My previous passport issued in 2003 can use the autogate, should be no problem for newer one than 2003.
