Hi guys,

I'm really appreciating the replies and your opinions. No offence to the national brands, but i'm not intending to buy a P1 or P2.

To answer some of your questions, I'm working in the advertising/industry whereby we work a lot of late hours like till 12am, 5am oso got...thus I can get let's say around RM300-RM1k a month just on overtime plus allowances.

I'm also a fresh grad but my pay is considered good already for a fresh grad plus I'm really grateful that my parents have bought me a 2-storey terrace house in Ampang..thus in terms of property investment, i'm covered. Also I don't waste my disposable income on drinking, shopping, etc...I'm a very simple person that always go value for money. I'm not buying a nice car bcuz to show off but it's bcuz of my job as we have to travel a lot like meeting clients, go to photoshoot, etc.

I just need a car that is fast, good build quality(no rattling noise when langgar roadbump, minor potholes), good resale value so I can sell in 4-5 years time for bigger car. I do understand that Kia and Ford aftersales can improve after the Forte and Fiesta, thus I'm optimistic. This future car is really important to my job.

if you are looking for a car with no rattling car it would be a little be hard i would say...once i went to an accessories shop the shop owner told me even a bmw, merc conti car came to his shop to solve rattling sound...dont be to choosy..u can solve that problem quite easy..just my 2cent

See this for VSC.. Elantra and PC has it as well ^^ . If you off u can do like in the video in the link ^^
Elantra is slightly different. Its a VSM system which incorporates a steering control system in addition to the normal ESP/VSC.

For me... i have same dillemma like you too. But in the end i choose PC after test drive tons of cars.

With your budget. You can get more than 10 types of car and depends what you want and need in the end. I recommend test drive all the car and choose one which fits u best.

In my opinion, if you can wait that is,, Prius C is a good choice as 100% not made in Malaysia and rank high in safety feature as one of the VSC with 7 Airbag. Credit also go to Elantra for this tech. google it up and u see how safe it is with VSC system in place.

Not only that PC is the best in MPG as it can go 51 MPG in city driving as you drive in city. Test drive it first. I can safety say its more powerful than Vios and good at FC + safety feature.

Downside its small, so if you use it for second car and you dont mind small car. I think its a good car to drive around town as easy to park as well.

But then it all down to your preference. Ford Fiesta is not bad as well . With Kia K3 arriving soon. If you can wait , maybe test drive it and maybe you like it more. ^^ .

Prius C is not that small, actually it is quite spacious compared to Swift and even the Fiesta, the boot is also quite big considering it is a hatchback.

Safety features is top notch, handling wise is ok but still not as good as Fiesta and Swift, comparable to Forte. Fuel consumption is great but the difference in highway driving is not really mind blowing. Prius C's superior FC is really a big advantage in the city stop and go traffic where normal car just burns fuel without making any progress, especially the bigger engined cars.

Turbo lag or whatsoever, nothing draws a clearer picture than test driving itself.
if you happen to own a proton previously, test driving it will impress you.
but if you don't, believe me you aren't gonna be impressed.

No offense to other Preve buyers, just voicing out my opinion from the test drive. blush.gif

Perhaps so, as the preve I tested was a 1st batch. In spite of what the paper-specs say, Inspira felt more responsive and torquey as lower revs compared to Preve. Remember that Mitsu gave proton a detuned lancer engine (lower hp), 140+ vs. 156. Maybe due to that, inspira gets a flatter torque curve as a trade-off. I'm just speculating. This better ask owners. Also note, the k3 is on the horizon, so the forte's gonna be a "previous-gen" car soon. Fiesta facelift also in the works. But I don't hear any "lancer" replacement coming very soon.

There's already news about a new lancer coming. Just google it.

About the detuned lancer part, yeah, Inspira is tuned to produce less power than the lancer, though they're using the exact same engine and transmission.

Easily solved, just need to remap the Inspira.

Wah thanks. Next gen smaller? Still no spyshot. Like this i think earliest can reach our shore probably 2015-16. Still long time to go, so inspira will still look 'new'. K3 looks like a finished product and ready to launch. Ok ok we stop going off topic.

Forte K3 releasing in Korea around end of year or by early next year according to my uncle working in Seoul.

Thus, as usual..would be reaching our shores by end of 2013 or 2014...since i urgently need a new car by this month, Forte still a viable option. but nonetheless, will test drive the inspira and fiesta this saturday.

The Forte, my colleague got one and drove around just now during lunch...like the feeling of the interior for its price and the updated GPS touch screen, with the free bodykit some more..looks like an impressive deal

haish, maybe it's just bad timing for me to buy a new car..if buy forte now, 2014 new model comes out here..if i wana sell in 4-5 years, i wonder what's the value to trade-in..if around 40k still acceptable, but got feeling around 20k..can anyone predict? i doubt but pls do if u know some info

I will say Inspira 2.0P is one of the best choice out there. No Preve please.

You might want to consider new Focus too.

I think forte 2.0 FC not bad compared to my vios.
I personally own a forte2.0 and my FC is around 7.3l/100km.
Around 80% hiway and 20% city.
Rm 50 Ron95 can go for 330 - 350km.
My ex car vios rm50 can go for around 380km.

I think not bad rite thumbup.gif

Btw, I think safety features in forte 2.0 is the best among all the cars that u mentioned rite hmm.gif
Pls correct me if I m wrong. smile.gif

This is what I did with my 2.5L BMW, 90% highway at 110-120kmh.

Big engined car usually has no problem cruising at highway speed, only when there is a traffic jam or stop and go traffic the fuel consumption will fall off the cliff. Prius C on the other hand can get minimum 17 km/l almost everytime regardless how you drive.Normally it hovers around 19-21 km/l.
