Why not Preve? It has the best specs and quite a powerful engine for the turbo. Any problems with it?
*
being the budget is 100k...i would go for inspira instead of preve as well
i will only choose preve is budget is lower and tight
choose inspira purely becuz of the engine and gearbox being mitsu
and the fact that the engine uses timing chain and its a 2.0L....2.0L will always be a 2.0L, nothing can replace that

I wonder why u say a 2.0L engine will always be that and nothing can replace that? U mean performance? Right now, the trend with most manufacturers is to go small yet increase power and output thru turbo's.
*
theres no replacement for displacement...N/A is still the best
turbo(small) just increase the torque but for horsepower not really
there are big turbo that will increase the HP but thn turbo lag
so...getting the 2.0L is still the best and the fact that its a mitsu engine(more advanced) and using timing chain is enough to convince me to take it if i have the budget

If I have a choice for NA and Turbo, I will definitely go for Turbo without considering too much.
Because I appreciate higher torque than higher HP.

Normally higher HP only provides better power during high RPM and better top speed where we are seldom reach or need it in daily usage.
However, significant low end torque provided by Turbo is very useful during overtaking, hill road and city driving. You will addicted with a turbo car with plenty of torque for you to zig zag in the city or highway overtaking without shifting down your gear. cool2.gif
Moreover, turbo car serves you maximum of torque from as low as 1.xxk RPM to 4.xxk RPM, very wide range of torque spreaded compared to NA car thumbup.gif
*
have to see what turbo also
in preve is just a small/soft turbo that boost the torque to equivalent of 2.0L car
and that only boost the torque
being said in this car, inspira happens to be a 2.0L car
so in short, why not have both hp and torque of a 2.0L car tongue.gif
and from my view, inspira is using mivec engine(more advance) and using timing chain(less maintainance, just need to change fan belt)
and for the gearbox, preve's CVT is almost at the limit of the torque already...can't mod performance
but inspira's mitsu CVT still hv quite alot of space for performance mod
not to say turbo car is bad, its good and addictive but in this case, inspira win it all

But isnt the Inspira 2.0 torque of 197Nm only available at 4,250 RPM as compared to the Preve Turbo torque of 205Nm available from 2,000 RPM?
*
since inspira no turbo...the 4250RPM is actually maximum, not start from
where as the preve is start from 2000 to maximum 4000
meaning inspira can access the 197Nm from start till 4250RPM whereas the 205Nm of preve only start @ 2000RPM
this is call turbo lag but this is consider mini lag already compare to those big turbo

Don't doubts, it is true cool2.gif
But mine is 80% hiway n 20% city wo...
What about yrs daily routes?
*
i think its reasonable...becuz higher displacement car actually save fuel on long distance travel compare to a 1-1.3L car

That's very true, really appreciate you guys pointing out on this..Polo service interval around 15k KM and cost around RM500-600. Road tax is cheap but anyone know abt the insurance for the Polo S TSi?

But still I'm goin to discuss with my parents n close friends abt this too..bcuz now what I'm worried abt the Forte is the resale value since the new one is out soon...even i just saw Fiesta spyshots of the next gen model...  sad.gif
*
if u want a good car that is good in everyway, u dn't care so much abt resale value
if u car sooo much abt resale value....thn u should have go for vios...superior resale value but crappy spec

QUOTE(xeda @ Sep 6 2012, 05:30 PM)
Don't just consider the cost of normal service and normal maintenance. Normal service and normal maintenance for all new cars are around the same, since it's just changing lubricants and such.

The things you need to consider are the spare parts. I don't know about other cars, since I drive an Inspira, but part of buying a car, is that you would need to be willing to fork out money for the spare parts - Just in case.

Let's just talk about Inspira, since that's the only one I know. Sure, it's a good car, but I'm not going to sugar coat it, it's an expensive car to maintain.

Did you know Inspira's headlights cost 1.6k per side? Yes, PER SIDE. Motorized headlights from Mitsubishi, that's why they're so expensive. Break it, and you'll cry.

Inspira's CVT costs 27k, without labour. Our wipers cost 160+ to replace, instead of typical 50+ for original Bosch.

Inspira's Throttle Body is 3.5k, without labour. The only cheap part in Inspira, are the absorbers, 100+ each, because they're from Proton. The rest of the major parts are from Mitsubishi, making them expensive.

And that's just talking about Inspira. I'm not trying to say Inspira is a bad car, but I'm trying to make you understand that you need to cosnider a lot of things when buying a car. Sure, all these things would not need to be replaced every year, and chances are, you will never need to replace it, BUT, what if, you got into a bad accident? What if, you don't want to claim your insurance for repairing your car? What if, you have no choice but to replace all these parts with your own money?
*
its normal that the more expensive the car, the more expensive the parts is...its always has been like that
and the wiper, no need to change OEM, just buy bosch as long as its the same size, less than 100 for both here in LYN
and the CVT is normal price actually, and this is no matter what car u drive(cheap or expensive)
saga's CVT itself also cost 25k(almost same as inspira as well)
some parts are especially expensive cuz they dn't spoil so quickly or easily(u can use for 5 years and still is ok)
and the absorber isn't from proton la, proton dnt make absorber, most probably from kayaba(japanese company) = they mass produce, thats why its cheap
but parts are expensive but in maintainance, u save cuz it uses timing chain, u dn't need to change the timing belt and water pump every 80k KM

saga cvt is half price of the car?

lmao....laugh.gif
*
it is...u can go ask proton SC or just go saga club there and ask
the CVT GB is actually half price of the car but that is if u want to change it after it spoiled
but if its the unit that they install in mass production, of course cheaper than that
if not, how can they price a car at that price...not to mention haven't add engine
