Best to avoid using VGA unless you must. The order is DisplayPort > DVI > HDMI > VGA. You can get signal noise with VGA cables. And HDMI can have weird issues because it is designed for TV display and not PC display. Least troublesome is DVI and DisplayPort.

Let's say i have the latest graphic card. It has DVI and Displayport right? Then connect to DellTM U2312HM. Means i should use Displayport connect to displayport? or dvi connect to dvi?

QUOTE(JustForFun @ Oct 6 2012, 12:45 AM)
It depends on whether you're connecting from your integrated graphics or graphics card. Most if not all dekstop computers will have VGA port from the motherboard for you to connect, however if you have a graphics card with DVI port, you're better off using the DVI port, as it has better performance.

DVI to DVI right?

Btw, the quality of digital connection between DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI not much difference right? Just about the same.

Correct me if im wrong.

For u2713hm.... To be exact it's DL-DVI..I'd have gone with DP though..... Cable's cheaper

It depends on image processor in the monitor..... but 10101 are 10101 (Digital is digital) .... just a matter of capability of bandwidth... By right/convention: EQUAL

Note: DP and DVI/HDMI are not compatible formats...

Not all graphics cards have DP but most mid-end and high-end cards will have it.

Hai bro would like to ask about monitor resolution.

Let say i have two types of monitors.

1)20 inches monitor with 1600x900 resolution. Meaning PPI(pixel per inch) = 91.79

2)27 inches monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. PPI = 81.59

Does that mean that the 20 inches monitor will look better/sharper than the 27 inches monitor? Higher PPI means more pixel per inch, thus sharper and nicer?

so the conclusion is

20 inches monitor with 1600x900 looks better/nicer/sharper than 27 inches monitor with 1920x1080.

am i right? please correct me. tq

Yes. But more than just what is sharper, the distance between you and the monitor is very important. Not to mention the different experience of viewing two different does screen.

23" - 1.5 to 2 feet away.
1 feet = ~30cm
Usuallly watching movie will be at the 2 feet, otherwise 1.5 when I want to view some document with small letters or browsing the Internet.

i find that glossy screen is more appealing and crispier. dont you think so ? its like a phone, u got to choose the matte screen protector, or the crystal clear screen protector. im definitely gonna choose the clear one as the matte one is, yeah good with terminating smudges, but the picture quality is somehow downgraded. u feel me ?

I guess is a matter of taste if asked me. Nowadays even handphones are upgrading using IPS or matte screen. IPS screen are more pleasant to the eyes, TN panels are just faster or fastest screen to meet demanding future games. As for real RGB or CMYK quality, TN panel produces NOT ACCURATE picture quality. So, is more like sacrifies some for some things here. SPEED VS QUALITY tongue.gif

fyi, dell russia does not offer direct sales from its website. and if i wanna buy from computer shops itself, it costs double the malaysian price. sad.gif

Disagreed :-P
I think glossy screens only benefit is lower power consumption because the panel doesn't need to display as much brightness. The glossy screen artificially makes u think it's brighter by reflecting external light, which has useless information and sometimes annoying.
