Want to get the Dell one. Should I pair it with the additional speaker which can hook underneath the monitor? Is it worth?
nope, dedicated speakers are way better for the same price range. The LCD Monitor v12.

hey guys, does dell malaysia provide a service whereby they can help me (im currently in russia) to order my purchase from dell russia?
fyi, dell russia does not offer direct sales from its website. and if i wanna buy from computer shops itself, it costs double the malaysian price. |

but do note that some monitors have problem using hdmi (the overscan issue), whereby the display appears to be smaller due to black bars surrounding it.

QUOTE(V3nz @ Nov 1 2012, 02:29 AM) Quite a lot to be honest.U2711 uses better panel, but still uses power-hungry ccfl panel. Since u2713hm uses led panel, the thickness has been significantly reduced. and u2713hm has 4 usb 3.0 ports actually u can search for the comparison of both in the internet. |

whats up with those 21:9 screen ratio anyways?
multitasking purposes? i really doubt anyone would benefit from the extra length, unless there's a programme to adjust your multiple windows to fit into 1 screen independently. |

So, Dell has announced their new higher end 24" and 27" monitors to replace U2410 and u2711
U2413 ![]() » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « U2713H ![]() QUOTE Much like the newly announced 24" model, this will offer an extended colour gamut with 99% Adobe RGB coverage, and 120% sRGB. This looks to be using the latest generation of AH-IPS panel from LG.Display which we've been waiting for for many months now (likely the LM270WQ3). Like the new 24" model this screen seems to be aimed more at professional and higher end colour critical work. Along with the wide gamut support the screen comes factory calibrated with a deltaE of <2, offers 6-axis colour adjustment, 10-bit colour support (1.07b colours - again likely 8-bit + FRC) and features a programmable hardware 14-bit LUT. An optional X-rite i1 Display Pro colorimeter can be included as well to allow for full calibration of the screen. This seems to be a significant change in direction from many of the other UltraSharp screens we have seen of late, and looks to be a replacement for the U2711. Dell will of course have the U2713HM available for more "mainstream" users but this model will offer higher end specs and features for colour critical work and professional uses. In terms of other specs the screen offers a 6ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio (2 million:1 DCR), 350 cd/m2 brightness (max) / 50 cd/m2 brightness (min) and 178/178 viewing angles. The screen features an AH-IPS panel which operates at 60Hz refresh rate. The spec states the screen features an anti-glare coating, and let's hope this is as light as we saw on the recent 27" U2713HM model. The backlight is W-LED based but of the newer type with wider gamut coverage. The screen features DL-DVI (HDCP), HDMI, DisplayPort 1.2 and mini-DisplayPort video connections. There is also an integrated 4 port USB 3.0 hub, with 2 located on the left hand edge of the screen as shown above. There is also a multi-function card reader on the left hand edge. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments as well which we have become accustomed to seeing on the UltraSharp models. The screen remains VESA compliant for wall-mounting as well if required. The OSD control buttons are touch-sensitive as well unlike on the U2713HM. On Dell's Chinese website the screen retails for the equivalent of ~£897 GBP or $1445 USD. These prices may well vary when the screen officially appears in other markets though and remember the screen is aimed more at high end, professional users than the U2713HM was, which will still be available along side this U2713H. QUOTE(Jcsy @ Jan 30 2013, 12:08 AM) so for gaming with a budget RM500-RM600? Always go for the ones with IPS screenDELL DL2312HM Samsung S23B350H Benq? Viewsonic? can recommend me one? quite sure my 6850 GPU will not support the 1080p highgaming, but thats another problem altogether few miliseconds delay wont make any differences unless you're playing high pace FPS game like quake 3 COMPETITIVELY. The color reproduction and the viewing angle is way better than your ordinary TN panel. I'll choose dell because the warranty support is top notch. |

QUOTE(Jcsy @ Jan 30 2013, 10:00 AM) I play CS/CS:S/CS:GO once a while for 1 hour +/- sometimes. Not competitively, but i've been using CRT for 10 years... doesnt have any ghosting/lagging/etc You should narrow your search only towards those with IPS panel. From there, u'll have to see which of the IPS monitors has better build quality, warranty support, inputs, online review etc. How important is 120Mhz? Means my GPU actually has to hit 120FPS to make use of that ? On the other hand, I do play some strategy games, action games, DOTA2 once a day I do work, browse the net, chat almost a lot when not doing the above Other than IPS, what else should I evaluate? Thanks for your input... What are u using now? EDIT: VS239N LED IPS how about this model as well? Seems decently priced too |

QUOTE(Kenshin1314 @ Feb 3 2013, 04:18 PM) Hey Guys, stuck between LG IPS277L, Dell S2740L and AOC 2757M, go for the LG then.I know that Dell is absurdly glossy, saw reviews online and videos on it, i dont find it that disturbing...but right opposite my PC(Monitors) is a wide open window... I do have my doubts about getting it. Any advice on this? glossy screen + near the window = endless screen distractions but why not U2713HM? |

QUOTE(tplus1 @ Feb 14 2013, 03:29 PM) got some money to spare and wanted to buy another display. 1 30" screen is enough.current monitor setup is 2 x 24" 1080p. thinking to add another 24" for eyeinfinity gaming or just buy a 30" 1600p and sell one 24". or mayb setup into a 24-30-24 ? any recommendation? dell just launched the new U3014 monitor, roughly $1.5k there's no need for eyefinity to be honest. the bezel spaces in between are distracting. |

QUOTE(cybersans @ Feb 16 2013, 06:37 PM) if you go to dell website, you can spot too many differences between both model. oops, more like official revealing. here, i make it easy for you so you won't have to type it manually in the browser's address bar: just click this link: http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/sna.asp...topic=24_30inch "just launched" or will launch? i did not see that model appear in their official website nor the shops? |
