Just realised the SAMSUNG 840 are built using not SLC, MLC but TLC (Tripple Level Cell)

I don't know what is TLC and how TLC performs. So i dig in and manage to find some resource from Micron.

Why get a Corsair Force GT 240GB when its priced at RM759 when a Crucial M4 256GB can be had for RM650?
There is no Intel 330 240GB, but there is for the 520 series and that costs RM780. Not worth it.

According to storm88 on his earlier post, he can get a Samsung 830 256GB at sub RM650, that's a no brainer right there.

In terms of performance, it has been repeated numurous times already. They do not matter under the usage of gaming, day-to-day basis applications (internet and what not) and windows/applications boot time.

The difference between them is so insignificant that anything one would "feel" is simply just a placebo effect.

If you are doing a lot of real-time video encoding, recording or processing thousands (literally, thousands I mean) of RAW photos, then the extra bandwidth comes in play. But otherwise, forget the numbers. Get the one which is of the best value and reliability.

Good advice. About the performance thing, yeah, I guess you're right. I have not been in an SSD discussion before so I didn't really know the performance would be so insignificant. I'll hunt around for a good deal... for at least 240/256Gb size. The Samsung one sounds good.

What if I can get a 500Gb sata2 for <1k, is smsg 830 256Gb at rm650 (as stated above) a good alternative?
Maybe 500Gb is overkill, u never know how much u need it untill u really needs it, rite?!?

i have intel 320 80GB SSD bought december 2010
always sometime slow and shuts down still stuck i naver switch off
so wake up morning 7am i saw pc still show shuts down freeze long time CPU no turn off the monitor show shuts down then i press restart then i click shuts down now works cpu turn off sometime will again problem need to do restart then works many times everday sometime slow and still keep shuts down freeze what problem ssd
i already firmware update lates version still same

Hi, I wan to know will thr be any problem if I use ssd as an external HDD? I have a crucial m4 128gb, I hope I can use it as external HDD cause I cannot use it as internal HDD.

u meant to use ur ssd as an ext storage?
