You reply to others' complain saying it is unfounded.
He response with numerous proof and problems with maxis.
You laugh it off?

I find your response nauseating.
Instead of answering questions and contributing,
your action is likened to adding salt to the wound.

What is so funny? You are extremely rude.

initially though of cooling may spoil or rosak or can claim the warranty coz not over than 1 week... after that i trying to unplug it and plug in to the cpu usb port, somehow it seen working.

after waiting for all the internet connection up, i unplug from cpu and plug in to the thomson router again ,and now it worked again. hmm.gif

also no idea what's wrong. The thomson router last time i on it, the cooling fan should work straight away dont have to wait for sometime or warming up or something.. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Hi, I have done a quick search but nothing turned up so I'll just ask here. I am considering to install either Unifi or Maxis Fibre in my condo, Greenview Residence.

Anybody has Maxis Fibre installed there?

Do they install the Fibre optic cable to your unit or do they use the existing telephone line?

If they use the existing telephone line, do they upgrade the existing wire or anything? coz I'm currently doing renovations and I want to have all my cables hidden if possible.

How is your line performance?

Thanks in advance!

I see so many people putting fan for the router due to heat problem, have not encounter any heat issue since installation early July. The router is on 24/7, located inside room without ceiling fan on. I have the router standing tilted, only the edge is on the table, less surface area contact, probably can give it a try. Or I am just being lucky with the router.

basically is not say got issue with the heat.

just to be precaution and protect the hardware from being overheated.

besides that, if it really overheated or spoiled then is a nightmare for the days without "internet" use lo.

this is just my opinion and thinking of to get a cooling fan. smile.gif

yup!! same reason why i put the usb fan beside the modem and router. biggrin.gif
I did on the router and modem without the fan for few days 24/7 no hang or slow problem.
some ppls have overheat problem i believe is the ventilation of the place where they put modem and router.
and i notice that tm modem is more hot compare to the thomson router without fan.

P.S: last time on streamyx, i put usb fan nearby the modem and router too.... because 24/7 non-stop torrenting brows.gif without fan the router is really really hot....

what bittorrent software u use? maybe u need to tweak the setting.
in my case last time 1mb streamyx, i set all the downlaod upload in utorrent use 90% of 1mb...
limit the connected seeder to 15 ...
so after i get maxis 10mb i forgot to change the setting and the result is same as the 1mb streamyx(max80-90kb)...
then after i reset all to default... now can get 1Mb full if it's many seeders...

hi, i will staying at Bukit OUG condo. Currently, planning to install fibre internet either unifi or maxis. I'm tend to favor maxis because of will get a higher bandwidth compared to unifi plus the would be Astro service.

The reasons that deter me right now is the probably of maxis blocking torrent (based on my experience with maxis mobile broadband) and its latency problem and slowness.

Any comments for me to make a decision.

if you dun mind router hanged, auto restart, high latency. then go for it.

so far no blocking torrent. my experience when heavily download, the router will auto restart.

why not choose time fiber 100mbps?

you probably got a lemon one....maybe should call maxis and ask to replace the router?

FYI, I've done heavy BT from at least 2 PC at the same time for several hours straight, router was holding steady.
So far so good, no need for cooler ( for me at least).

I instead place it vertically instead of horizontally, that made good sense to me.
Using a fan on the exterior only cools the plastic cover, the moving air doesn't exactly reached the CPU.
I think the hot air trap underneath needs better flow.
Placing it vertically allows the ventilation holes at the back to be more exposed, allowing heat to dissipate better.
I find the router is less heated when placed vertically instead of horizontally

I don't expect the TM modem to suffer much during heavy usage since it's not doing any routing, just bridging the traffic, the load on CPU should be minimal.

I've let mine run 24/7 for the past 15days (from the system uptime info). Let's see how far it can go before it hangs....
