according to maxis, how mylaunchpad work is, everytime re-connect internet or ip changes, mylaunchpad will try to show once when open new address or click google search result.
somehow i don FEEL 100% true... but seems getting less of it compared to last time.

Hey guys... any idea on how to fix the frequent disconnection problem with the maxis router? yawn.gif
*
i'm facing this ~10 times /day (am using public ip, latest software).
has been quite some times already since maxis technician said monitoring my account, still no improvement so far.

to ease thing, i wrote a program to automate checking and reconnecting.
dc is really annoying when playing online game.

today i had 3 rounds of PPP authentication no reply issue, and maxis said this and intermittent dc are open issues at TM without timeframe.

i requested for private ip for time being, looking forward to stable connection.

you all just slow connection, my router just keep on and off every few minutes, never success connect, see only power light is on and off, all other led is off...
*
my router restarts itself also after retrying connecting couple times without success (during PPP no reply issue).
however it does not restart when connection stable or during intermittent dc, i wonder why... a feature???

Facing similar scenario for me as well....especially during the night time.

Getting loads of "PPP PAP Authenticate Request sent"
*
this down time can last for 15min to few hours, it seems getting more frequent and worrying...

during the problem, VOIP working but internet down, connect status always Retrying, router may restart itself after a while (btw i try connecting every 3 minutes), if i tried wrong password/username, will get PPP fail reply; no PPP reply if correct password.

when i report the issue, maxis said some public ip users affected and advise was to restart modem and router then just wait. but this does not reduce the down time and seems like maxis cant do anything about it. i requested 2 login for both public and private ip, maxis said cannot; switching private/public ip will still take times within 24hr.

Stupid Maxis. Today I called them and they said they can't find any detail of my registered name. WTF.
Then called to the centre I registered at and they said they will check for me. But too bad I didn't have any prove that I registered before the RM118 deadline.
Anyone of you guys experience this? Really pissed of with this kind of service.
*
i registered at maxis dealer end june but no news after that. i called maxis 2 weeks later, they said my registration not received, so i gave them my registration form number and which dealer i registered with for them to trace. another 2 weeks later, they called me to schedule installation on following week and promotion price stayed.

So I need to go to the dealer to get my registration form number and call Maxis?

P1 or Maxis?
*
the dealer should have given you the customer copy of the maxis registration form on the spot.
and the form should have a reference number.

I've been on the RM88 4mb Streamx Unipack plan.
Now the 24 month contract is ending.
I heard that we can continue with it.

Should I continue with the RM88 4mb Streamyx?
Or go on and install my RM118 10mb Maxis plan?

I'm really satisfied with this 4mb.
It's more than enough for me as I only use internet for work.
I hardly download and dont play games at all.
It's really stable. Never give me any headache.

Then when I look over at this Maxis thread, there seems to be a lot of problems with the router.
I need stability. That's the most important.

Don't know what to do.
Maxis installer will come in mid September.
I dont need IPTV.
I still can cancel it but Im still on the fence.
Is it worth it to pay RM30 extra for a 6mb more speed?
But then get a potential headache..

And does the modem/router need to be next to the TV?
Or can we put the modem/router wherever we want to like streamyx modem?
*
you may consider upgrade if you want view even HD streaming, more ppl sharing internet, basically needing more bandwidth. or somehow it saves you money with other benefits (example free calls)

if i had $88 4mb package, i would not change.
especially when it is fast enough and stable.
issue with signing new package
- waste of money (you can buy something else with $360/yr saved).
- commitment to long contract (then you may miss even better package in future)
- fibre internet required drilling wall.
- unknown technical issue (eg trottle, private ip, instability etc)

anyway i'm happy with this from 1mbps streamyx. coz more bandwidth for 3 of us, surfing and streaming smoothly.

my internet was down since saturday before 1pm until just now with eInternet authentication failed. i called maxis 6 times, and they said problem still not resolved and most users affected. so i am the lucky one on Internet now?

during my down time, they had asked me to try reconnect, restart modem within 1 hour while they reset my port (donno what is this). then just now they mentioned problem was fibre cable cut. i still wonder how i managed to reconnect and fear disconnection again...
