Now, maxis is focusing the astro collaboration...

Anyone here having any issues with their routers? I came back today and found that when 1 of my devices (smartphone) is connected to wireless, the router is unable to provide an IP address to my laptop, which is connected via LAN cable. I changed my laptop to wireless while still having the phone connected, it connected but still without any IP.

I turned off WiFi on the phone and connected my laptop to WiFi and it works like a charm but then, I decided to turn WiFi on my phone again, the laptop starts to disconnect. It's an either or situation. I dunno what could have caused this. Yesterday, it was all good.

Troubleshooting I did:
ipconfig /renew @ /release
netsh int ipv4 @ ipv6 reset
Restarted DHCP client through msconfig
and so many more until I can't remember...
I even checked my Event Viewer and found that it was showing error 0x79 on the DHCP client... Googled and still can't solve it... In the end, I just tried disconnecting one and connecting the other and it's smooth sailing from there...

tl;dr version:

Connect 1, the other can't get IP address. icon_question.gif

no if you want to change back to private ip you MUST call them back
but my public IP no problem at all no DC issue stable

I'm not sure where u heard about this, but I have NO PROBLEMS switching between public and private IP on my account as I was experiencing some sort of weird connection issues a day ago. It's just a matter of how u set the log-in on your Thomson router.

what bittorrent software u use? maybe u need to tweak the setting.
in my case last time 1mb streamyx, i set all the downlaod upload in utorrent use 90% of 1mb...
limit the connected seeder to 15 ...
so after i get maxis 10mb i forgot to change the setting and the result is same as the 1mb streamyx(max80-90kb)...
then after i reset all to default... now can get 1Mb full if it's many seeders...
*
Thanks for sharing the information and also thanks to jeremy05.

I use bittorrent embeded on my NAS. It was fine all the time, it reaches 100kbps and sometime stay between 60-80, but last few days i notice my torrent never get finished with only 0.5%... Its obvious that some settings have been made..

So what i tried was i randomly select some ports and after the change, i see spike up to 130kbps and within 5 mins, it drop back to 10kps...thats why i am mad.gif about.

Last night i notice it is hovering about 30-40kbps...with an closed port at the moment on my router....(means others leechers unable dl my seeds)

I will monitor for few days and see....** when i was on 1mb adsl TM, before i switch, TM did not block p2p and i am quite happy buy it jam up my bandwidth, so this maxis deal came in handy... Hope my slowdown experience is temporary.
