QUOTE(clawhammer @ Aug 24 2012, 03:28 PM) I don't think it is weird at all. You are downloading from file sharing sites like Mediafire and they often cap the connection speed. It is not Maxis that is throttling your speed down but Mediafire is not giving you that sort of bandwidth. You can never expect 1MB/s from file sharing sites. err, but it seems like evy1 else is downloading from mediafire or other file sharing sites yet they got vy fast dl speed with their maxis home fibre 10mb, while i only got max 200kbps dl speed If you download from nVidia, Microsoft, etc and it's giving you 200KB/s then there might be a problem. |

Yes, I am having the same problem (disconnected issue) as well. One day down few times, and it continue for several days. I have ask maxis what is the solution for this, and the 2nd level (technical support) told me that no solution for long time. As they cannot control at all. Everything is under TELEKOM control. If u want stable Internet, better get Unifi. Yours can terminate the Maxis Home service, as they can't guarantee the down time (this is what the technical support team told me!!!)
I agree that when I use the provided phone to call maxis hotline (123), everytime I need to wait for at least 10-20 min before someone pick-up the call. Everytime when they refer to someone, I have to wait another 20-30mins. Since they can not guarantee the level of service, u can terminal the service without paying penalty. if maxis ask you to pay the penalty, then u can appeal thru the consumer tribunal court. |

Maybe you can try using a 3rd party router? I'm using Mikrotik since day one, no router issues but only Maxis connection issues, lol |
