If you download from nVidia, Microsoft, etc and it's giving you 200KB/s then there might be a problem. |

QUOTE(pisanq @ Aug 24 2012, 05:54 PM) Referring to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaFire, Mediafire does not enforce waiting times for downloads, limit simultaneous downloading, or set bandwidth limits. Unfortunately you are getting the wrong information ![]() |

QUOTE(jeremy05 @ Aug 24 2012, 10:28 PM) you all just slow connection, my router just keep on and off every few minutes, never success connect, see only power light is on and off, all other led is off... Maybe you can try using a 3rd party router? I'm using Mikrotik since day one, no router issues but only Maxis connection issues, lol |

QUOTE(pisanq @ Aug 24 2012, 11:43 PM) I believe a GIANT file hosting company like Mediafire use super mesh gigabit internet connection with multi-tier load balancer to cater all those user download speed requirement to ensure every connection will get maximum and optimum speed. It's not like what you imagine by simply divide 100 to 10k connection. FYI I always get maximum speed when downloading from Mediafire doesn't matter I use dialup, Streamyx, Unifi or Maxis FTTH because they didn't put any download speed limit to free user or paid user. That is what you believe but unfortunately you are wrong again Thanks and hope it helps to clarify. You are also confused between the function of load balancer vs bandwidth. A load balancer is just a hardware that balances the connection for different servers and it DOES NOT increase your connection speed. If 100 Mbps is what you have then that's what you have. |

QUOTE(Qavs @ Aug 25 2012, 06:22 AM) No offense, I have premium for RS and I do get full speed most of the time (95%) for the past 3 years. That's alright, you have a very good connection there I only complaint to Streamyx once, reset port and it went back to normal. I was using 4MB, speed was around 500kbps +/- Now with Maxis, Rapidshare full speed also, but not stable. Well, not exactly not stable, it will go from 1.3mbps to 800kbps at some time, but most of the time is max speed. (PREMIUM) Btw, I used to have Filesonic Premium with Streamyx 4MB a year ago and I never get full speed 100% as well. Certain files I can get full speed but not all files. However if we are talking about MediaFire, it really does not make sense if people say they can get full speed all the time for all files (that's my whole point). QUOTE(pisanq @ Aug 25 2012, 11:59 AM) It's different story if you compare download speed between Mediafire (not Mediashare) and other file sharing sites because Mediafire didn't cap our download speed limit for free users. Show me you can get 1.25MB/s for this file http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?i6ua00spypgepzk |

QUOTE(jerryhean @ Aug 25 2012, 12:49 PM) QUOTE(pisanq @ Aug 25 2012, 01:00 PM) Both of you are using a download manager to do the job. The reason why you are getting "full speed" is because the download manager optimizes the download for you by using multiple connections and downloading the files in parts (please read more about segmented downloading). Segmented downloads mean you can download the same file with many streams, resulting in higher download-speed. That explains why you claim it is getting "full speed".QUOTE(aerobowl @ Aug 25 2012, 01:58 PM) Your observation and experience is correct. They are claiming "full speed" downloads because they are using download managers which somewhat optimizes the connection to get that sort of speed. |

QUOTE(pisanq @ Aug 25 2012, 02:29 PM) I use download manager to create multiple download connection per file because my computer Operating System limit my download speed per connection. That's why I can utilize all the Maxis FTTH bandwidth after combining all of these "OS limited download speed" That's true but you are getting full speed because you are using a download manager which is literally optimizing your network connection. Therefore it is not fair to say that under all circumstances we can get full speed downloads from Mediafire because not everyone has a download manager and would pay for it. Besides, some file sharing sites will block segmented downloading unless you are a premium user. That is why some people get confused as to why they are getting low download speeds while others are getting "full speed" |

I am getting a red light for optical and after calling Maxis last night, they say it is an unexpected downtime because the main fibre cable in the area was broken. This morning at 9:30AM, the problem still persists. Anyone else in Klang Valley have information when would this be resolved?
