hahah then unifi>maxis la  brows.gif  brows.gif

still unclear whether want to cut off my streamyx 1.0 then go for

1) unifi
2) Maxis fiber
3) streamyx 4.0 - another forumer chose this instead of unifi, speed very fast according to him  biggrin.gif
*
the problem with streamyx 4 is multiple users. one guy play youtube in HD, another will get affected.

i signed up for the RM118 maxis simply because it's cheaper than my streamyx 3.0 (2mb "upgraded" to 3mb). now everybody play youtube, and it doesn't affect the others. play dota also no problem

download speed fantastic. for me , I use a $4/month VPN to watch hulu and other sites, smooth sailing

What VPN do you subscribe to? You mean $4 as in US dollars? Sorry for asking stupid question, why would you want to use VPN in the first place?

sh3lls.net

need VPN to watch geospecific sites like pisces88 said.

such as HULU, CBS , WB, bla bla bla which only allow US I.P

I heard that soon, BBC Iplayer will allow US IP , currently only UK IP. with iplayer i can watch all those british comedy wah so nice !

yeah US$4

i cucuk the wifi router to thomson routher via LAn cable

then configure the new wifi router to a fixed static IP, with the gateway set as thomson's IP. configure the new wifi name and password. something like that lor

just like a normal router, except i set it at static IP

jus configure a DECT phone to Aztech E310-S, really no need cabling! GAP Compliance!!

The phone model is Aztech E210-P2, phone design a bit outdated but button wise like handphone smile.gif simple usability is a PLUS+
Got all the feature like E310, Caller ID, Miss Call, Address Book, Ringtone... & etc
and the best part is I got free intercom... hehe

finally, just my opinion... why I feel E310 is a lower grade model? sad.gif

i just cucuk my old telekom phone. it's the best !

you mean your thomson router problem? It's possible to dial tm modem using laptop provided you are using the huawei vdsl modem. Just follow one of the guides posted in this section
*
hey man, thanks for the reply. on the first page of thread, there's a tutorial on setting up own router to dial. what I'm interested in is dialing directly via computer, with no router involved. I don't need IPTV or IPPhone. could you point me to the right direction (page) where the instructions are located?

thanks again!

sad.gif

can anyone help with my question? all these instructions/talk are about using own router, setting VLAN etc.. with certain Huawei Modem. but my modem is the newer huawei hg850a.
my question is, is it possible to connect that modem directly to my laptop without using any router, do something to dial it ? I will use my own laptop as router using windows 2003 server

if it's not possible, which router (with exact model) is the easiest to use with this huawei modem ?

thomsonn router is an abomination
