QUOTE(ronnie @ Aug 22 2012, 11:18 PM) Is it time to call Maxis Home CS for another Thomson Router ? hopefully maxis will replace your router quickly when/if it fails anybody with slow torrents tonight? downloading avengers 1080p was fine this afternoon, but right now it's crawling at 70kbps.. ratio seems good.. bad seeds?

I've now had two incidences (last night and just now, never ever before this) where the internet goes down suddenly, although on the router it still says 'connected' and the pc itself says 'connected with internet access'..
can someone remind me whether this is probably a problem with the thomson router, or the maxis server itself?

Called Maxis many times and they keep on saying in the midst of checking.. Feel so disappointed now.. :-( modem or the thomson router? i had the same problem with the thomson before. only the power led was lit up (in red color though, not the usual yellow).. they replaced the router within 48 hours though.. Added on September 4, 2012, 12:46 pmQUOTE(peri peri @ Sep 4 2012, 12:39 PM) yup, like digi and celcom line, sometime tm fixed line. yet tried the calls to oversea. haha how come you're not being charged for those? i was charged accordingly for a call to celcom in my first month (50 cents).. hopefully u don't get a 'bill shock' later on This post has been edited by jetwash: Sep 4 2012, 12:46 PM

QUOTE(barney @ Sep 4 2012, 10:06 PM) sucks big time....my torrent max is 2m down andmost of the time is around 40k like streamyx 512 speed. but it just happened today...will wait until tmr and see how. i sure hope they didn't start the quatra implementation yet mine just seems to be unstable tonight. would get to 700 to 800 kBps before suddenly going down to 200 kBps, then shooting back up again.. this is with well seeded, good seed/peer ratio torrents..

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Sep 5 2012, 08:00 PM) u guys really need to stop promo unifi... Broadband in Malaysia is going crazy... check this out TIME Fibre 100Mbps!!! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « BROADBAND solutions provider Time dotCom Bhd has launched its Fibre 100Mbps (megabits per second) Home Broadband service which it claims is the fastest in the country.
Offered to customers living in high-rise buildings, the service is ideal for streaming high definition content, playing online games and downloading large files.
Home Broadband will bring Malaysians up to speed with other developed nations, said its Afzal Abdul Rahim, its executive director and chief executive officer.
"It is just the right time for Malaysians to enjoy a 100Mbps connection as more content providers will be offering higher definition media such as 4K videos," he said.
Users will have a usage quota of 100GB a month which is equivalent to about 200 days of surfing the Net. If a user exceeds the quota, their connection speed will be throttled down to 1Mbps.
Users can also make calls for a flat rate of 15sen per minute to all mobile and fixed lines nationwide. Time said its 100% pure fibre optic network reaches approximately 100,000 homes in the Klang Valley and Penang.
Home Broadband is available now for an introductory price of RM179 per month and users will have to sign up for a minimum of 24 months. The package will include a cordless phone and WiFi router. - CHONG JINN XIUNG >> TIME 100Mbps LinkRM179/month 100GB Quota -> 1Mbps (if exceeded) Call Rates RM0.15/minutes anyone regret? TIME are content on rolling out their own fiber infrastructure and not piggyback on unifi. I don't think we'll see them anywhere in the suburbs of kl anytime soon.

QUOTE(ericling @ Sep 16 2012, 12:51 AM) I am a heavy downloader. I use internet everyday and download big sized files every day. From what I have read so far, the high ping shouldn't be affecting the download performance right? direct downloads from local servers and/or torrents are usually full speed, but from international download sites you need to use a downloader to get full speed, which is not fair imho and yes, ping doesn't affect downloading speed, it just affects the time it takes to get initially connected to something This post has been edited by jetwash: Sep 16 2012, 10:50 AM
