@pisanq so you are still facing frequent disconnection but yr best result is 2 days? i have been trying alot of combination to see if it helps, i find that turning off the phone service for me would last longer (1day 22hours).

Now im trying with public ip, turned on standard firewall, time server on, phone on but with Web Browsing Interception disable, if it still doesnt last me longer im going to try private IP.

@ericling we are all using the same router Thomson TG784n (from maxis), as for the modem it depends on TM side. i dont think there is any issue with the fibre modem because they are used for unifi as well, what we are facing is mostly maxis server problem or the dang Thomson TG784n router.

Last time TG784n router is supply with 6mb maxis home fibre, 10mb user is suppose to get TG799n due to the promotion they had to use the cheaper device, so i was thinking if its because TG784n is not capable in handling 10m line?

I realize sometime I can't browse/ping to internet even my eInternet connection still shows connected. The connection automagically resume like normal again after a few minutes. My public IP didn't change at all. Even my connection uptime shows 2 days, the unavailability of the connection to the internet still there for a few times a day.

My setting summary: (mostly default setting)
- public ip on landed house, alcatel TM modem and default Thomson maxis router
- firewall disabled
- telephony enable for Phone 1 only
- dynamic dns enable
- game & application sharing (port forwarding/nat) got 2 entry with upnp disable
- web browsing interception automatic
- content sharing enable with ftp disabled

the random disconnect, session hang is on MAXIS NETWORK side, not on the router...

apparently it only affect the PUBLIC IP users, those with PRIVATE IP either dont have this issue or very less

I was informed the rectification process is within MAXIS & TM and only going to resolved early Sept 2012

Since I've faced this prob from Day 1 of installation in June , Im no longer tolerating the wait.. I've made official complaint to SKMM

all the while i having a faulty tm modem with me. only managed to replace after 3 days no internet usage. been calling maxis for 10 times in 3 days only get the job done. if dont follow up, they intend to replace to me after raya by giving NONSENSE reason such as, "u know kerja TM lah", "u know now almost raya lah" and etc. I "F" them says ur protocol to attend breakdown is to be resolve with 24 hours to 48 hours only. They only managed get in done in 60 hours.

I am using streamyx at my relative house, the browsing experience is definitely better than my maxshit ftth

What kind of ISP offering 10mbps but browsing worst than 512kbps?

Not only that, I try downloading movie from pps on my iPad, streamyx faster than maxshit ftth! Speechless...

Found this in the event log.

Is this a cause for concern or just the firewall blocking access to hackers?

the problem is by default all our router has firewall disable, where did this log came from ? its not only this, there is alot more error going in the event log.

after i read through this thread, i have to agree that Maxis had set the benchmark of terrible service...
i switched to Maxis bearing the reason that if i can get 50% of the 10mbps, i still save quite a lot compared to unifi...
who would have thought that i'm getting frequent disconnection, speed at at avg at 3mbps, router hung for no reasons, losing wifi signal, manually reset the router avg once every single day since my installation.
and don't even let me start on the VOIP service. can't make or receive call most of the time, delay response...one funny incident is that my mom called me at my maxis home line, she can't get through, so she used the same phone to call my mobile, WHILE i was talking to her on her mobile, my maxis home line telephone rang and it was showing my mom's mobile number! according to my mom she called me approximately 3 minutes ago and can't get me and the phone started ringing 3 min after my mom hang up! WTF!
call maxis many times and usually put on hold for at least 15 min...i complaint abt this issue many times and it still couldn't be solved!
THIS IS THE WORST EVER EXPERIENCE FOR ME...when u think TM sux, think again! CUZ MAXIS HAD TAKEN THE CROWN OF WORST ISP IN MALAYSIA!
HOW DO I ASK THEM TO DISCONNECT THE ACCOUNT WITHOUT CHARGING ME PENALTY?

This is getting pretty bad. Every day disconnect at least once / twice (router shows connected but dns server cannot be reached, likely Maxis server problem, need manual disconnect & reconnect to solve), I still can bear with it a little. But it's very troublesome.

Then from yesterday 10pm, cannot connect (authentication failed) until now, frigging 10 hours downtime).

That's it. I'm at my limit. Gotta compile some screen shots over a week, and one shot complain to SKMM/MCMC.

Ouch! Who would have thought that after all those years of b****ing about Streamyx that we'd get to this stage? From screamyx / suckmyx to Maxshit...sigh...

My question is...where are all the Maxis guys on the forum? They were pretty active during the promotion period, answering questions and taking registrations. Now that all these issues are cropping up, where have they gone?

Maxis gives tg784n for business lines. So it is more than capable. Its used in my 32mbps line with no issues.

Am i the only one without speed and connection problems with maxis? So far, browsing and downloading (both torrent and direct dl) is at max speed.

My only complain is the ping when playing MMOs

My info was given by my friend that had subscribe 6mb package when they first launch, he asked the technical guy what if he wanted to upgrade to 10mb/20mb/30mb in future? it was replied that TG784n couldnt handle that it is compulsory to change to TG799n. so hence im still thinking if the tech guy is just bullshitting him
