Be careful how you quote speeds.

1.82 MBps = 14.56 Mbps

The 10Mbps speed, is the speed consistent (about 85-90% of the promised speed?)

Do I need to change my phone number if I were to switch from Streamyx to Maxis?

If I apply for Maxis FTTH public IP, will it incur more cost?

Previously I has a friend who registered for the RM99/month package but he waited for 2 months and there is no installer who even came to the premise to lay the fibre cables. He called to the center numerous times and finally got a reply from them.

They state that Maxis is currently outsourcing some of the installation jobs to TM Unifi contractors. So sometimes they have no control over the schedule.

Besides, the service staff also mentioned that Maxis do not have enough routers.

So, how long did it actually take you guys to actually have the broadband deployed?

1. The speed is consistent at 10Mbps for direct downloads.
2. Maxis will provide another landline number. You can choose to cancel the TM phone number.
3. No extra cost for Public IP. It's not static Public IP address.
4. Due to high subscriber, Maxis is unable to cope currently.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. Appreciate it very much.

the one or two months delay is okay for me if they come as per the stated date, I scared later they mention one date dy, then in the end never come. Then I would have wasted my leave for that. sad.gif

Normally Maxis will call you few days before the appointment. You will also receive a sms a day before to reconfirm the appointment.

browsing speed has somehow improved... what sites you normally visit? can help u to test it out on my end

but the browsing is not as smooth though... if you go to thestar.com.my, it'll take some times to finish loading... and if you go overseas site like soccernet.com, you'll see like a slideshow, with the top images appear slowly before the content at the bottom apeear

we're talking about off period now, if peak period, sure die lah like that

honestly, i've not seen any isp as bad as maxis, dun even know how to configure their server for browsing

it's criminal to offer a 10mbps speed with browsing experience worst than 512kbps! this statement alone is enough to sentence maxis ftth guilty without verdict.

P1 is offering an alternative to maxis ftth and unfi(for those with valid business registration documents) :-
P1 Biz Fiber

5mbps for rm99 and 20mbps for rm199

i may soon switch if no improvement on this maxshit ftth(ell)

5mbps is good enough for me... asides from saving of rm19 per month, rm228 for a year and rm456 for 24 months... why not?

anyone with experience on p1 OnePlan Fiber(for consumer)?
*
I cancelled maxis before installation due 7th August.
Scared of so many maxis problems.

I jumped on the P1 bandwagon.
registered interest P1 site, agent call me one day after that.
registered via email yesterday.

I reckon NOTHING will be worse than maxis.

i'm facing this ~10 times /day (am using public ip, latest software).
has been quite some times already since maxis technician said monitoring my account, still no improvement so far.

to ease thing, i wrote a program to automate checking and reconnecting.
dc is really annoying when playing online game.

i dont think the dc issue is router problem but rather is maxis network issue

and what worry me is the dc issue maybe "known" issue for maxis
probably maxis know exactly where the problem but maxis decide not to fix it as the "cost" to fix is just too big
