I can never understand why people put up screenshots of themselves downloading illegal content. As much as we all know it is happening, I see no reason to provide "the others" with the evidence to cut your own throat. Considering that most active torrenters I know use software like Peerblock to hide their IPs from RIAA servers, advertising your illegal p2p downloads on forums is just... shakehead.gif

THIS IS THE WORST EVER EXPERIENCE FOR ME...when u think TM sux, think again! CUZ MAXIS HAD TAKEN THE CROWN OF WORST ISP IN MALAYSIA!

Ouch! Who would have thought that after all those years of b****ing about Streamyx that we'd get to this stage? From screamyx / suckmyx to Maxshit...sigh...

My question is...where are all the Maxis guys on the forum? They were pretty active during the promotion period, answering questions and taking registrations. Now that all these issues are cropping up, where have they gone?

Should I continue with the RM88 4mb Streamyx?
Or go on and install my RM118 10mb Maxis plan?

Well, you can either:

1. Cancel, and wait till Maxis sorts out their problems, but end up paying RM138/148 for 10MB.
2. Proceed with the 10MB installation, pay RM118, but deal with the technical issues for a while until Maxis sorts out their issues.

I chose the first one, since I'm likely to move within the next 6 months and didn't want to deal with cancelling my subscription and paying any fees. But in your case, the second option might be worthwhile. Since you are not a heavy user, you might not feel the pain of dealing with the technical problems as much, and I suspect Maxis will soon enough sort it out. You'll also be saving yourself about RM720-960 over your 24month contract period by going with the lower RM118 price, and obviously more if you continue your Maxis subscription.

The only thing we won't know, of course, is if other ISPs will offer more attractive packages over the next few months.

What's unfair about it? Early bird offers / rebates / promotions are common marketing practices in any number of industries. (For the record, I didn't sign up with Maxis BB or get DrPritchard's early bird voucher).
