QUOTE(IccyAsd @ Aug 19 2012, 09:49 AM) @pisanq so you are still facing frequent disconnection but yr best result is 2 days? i have been trying alot of combination to see if it helps, i find that turning off the phone service for me would last longer (1day 22hours). Now im trying with public ip, turned on standard firewall, time server on, phone on but with Web Browsing Interception disable, if it still doesnt last me longer im going to try private IP. @ericling we are all using the same router Thomson TG784n (from maxis), as for the modem it depends on TM side. i dont think there is any issue with the fibre modem because they are used for unifi as well, what we are facing is mostly maxis server problem or the dang Thomson TG784n router. Last time TG784n router is supply with 6mb maxis home fibre, 10mb user is suppose to get TG799n due to the promotion they had to use the cheaper device, so i was thinking if its because TG784n is not capable in handling 10m line? Maxis gives tg784n for business lines. So it is more than capable. Its used in my 32mbps line with no issues.

QUOTE(IccyAsd @ Aug 20 2012, 11:49 AM) My info was given by my friend that had subscribe 6mb package when they first launch, he asked the technical guy what if he wanted to upgrade to 10mb/20mb/30mb in future? it was replied that TG784n couldnt handle that it is compulsory to change to TG799n. so hence im still thinking if the tech guy is just bullshitting him Technical guy is just bullshitting him

To be honest my Thomson in my warm server room doesn't need any USB cooler. Very stable

QUOTE(HaVoC @ Dec 10 2012, 10:19 AM) This is the reason why the ping is so high: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The router might have SOME effect but I doubt you can get very much faster if your connection routes to JAPAN to reach Singapore servers. I think Ronnie should put this as a warning in FRONT PAGE to prevent gamers to use Maxis Fibre. Anyone else knows if VPN solves this? What I am wondering is why is NTT routing the data through japan. I'm pretty sure NTT has peering with star hub in Singapore. NTT even owns shares in star hub. And maxis trace route to soft layer Singapore goes through the same NTT line directly to Singapore

QUOTE(aerobowl @ Dec 10 2012, 11:12 AM) FTTH does not direct connect to starhub but connect to singtel and then route to starhub what make me angry is: maxis non FTTH network (like corporate leased line) is direct connect to starhub like what TM, TIME do.. routes to 103.28.54.1 from teh 3 diff lines in my office maxis fiber p1 fiber time adsl unifi at home This post has been edited by paultantk: Dec 10 2012, 04:39 PM
