Golf TSI Mark 6, used DSG 7 Speed Dry Clutch. This unit is prone to mechatronic problem, not just an issue in Malaysia but worldwide.
The same unit is being used in Mark 7 which you test drove.
Some people claimed the supercharger was dropped to prevent this issue, but honestly I didn't buy it. Time will tell (put it 6-9 months) before we maybe see a unit of brand new Golf started having this issue

the EA111 twincharge engine (super + turbo) is quite costly to produce...
so the EA211 loses the supercharger and with some tweaking, gain 10NM (but loses 20PS) more torque over the EA111 engine.
in terms of daily drive, this translate to more useable power as u get more torque... but because it loses the supercharger, u might and most possibly will experience more turbo lag when doing sudden hard acceleration...
of course in terms of high end rpm power, u will feel the 20PS deficit but then again, how often do u unleash the kraken? (sorry cant help it

)
the ample low to mid range torque more then makes up for it...
btw to relate engine parts to gearbox reliability is plain bollocks... u can kindly proceed to b.i.a.t.c.h slap the people who tells u that...
