I got 1 question for VW Golf owner.

did anyone have a 2nd thought of having VW Jetta instead Golf?

no offense, because both same engine and also 1k extra you can get the bigger car? although Jetta look abit boring. Still I found it quite a bargain.

For me no cos it is pure joy to drive. But i have not tested jetta.

I understand it will be the dilemma for it to be a family cos the boot space will be pain in the ass.

Slight more than 2 years i think the mk6 tsi infamus gearbox issue has hit me.

was coming out of toll happily revving it and suddenly the whole car jerk - error msg display on MFD asking me to go to the workshop. EPC light is on.

Still the car jerk all the way until i decided to pull over - off the engine and restart - everything back to normal and i'm driving it like a princess now. wink.gif

btw what's the current price for golf r tail light?saw some going for Rm1000 for made in Taiwan - anyone has experience?

Any one with Golf/Jetta/CT with RCD310+MDI upgraded to those China RCD510 with USB cable? Does the MDI connector still work, or you have to use the USB cable instead, or both?

QUOTE(pelvin @ Feb 7 2013, 10:53 AM)
after 2 years @ 46k Mileage... my 2011 polo finally broke down with the gear box problem... they say its mechatronics problem and need to replace it with a new 1... my car is currently still under warranty and can claim.. imagine 2 years old car having this type of problem is so unreliable man!! what happen if your warranty over? i ask him how much does it cost to fix it if no warranty, he say prepare at least RM15k...  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif so guys, better note on that.. now it make me think to sell my car before the warranty over.
they also tell me, the 1st 2 years warranty they can close 1 eye and claim from vw... for the last 3 years, they need to photocopy ur service book and other stuff as a proof and submit to their insurance for claim.. i just done my 45k mileage service and he told me 60k service is around RM2k (for polo) i actually thought of servicing outside for the 60k mileage before i get this gearbox problem.. now i have to think over d..  doh.gif
*
Mine also kong at around that mileage. thinking of selling it soon and move on rolleyes.gif

hi all VW sifu, advise needed here on polo tsi. peugeot 308t/408t,ford focus sport+ and polo tsi r my top three preference.Personally i prefer peugeot.I have seen ppl comment about the faulty dsg gearbox, but i still see a lot vw on the road, how come?if it wasn't the polo gearbox problem,i would make polo tsi my 1st priority.any comment on getting polo tsi?cheers!
*
personally the polo is abit plain - out of your choices i would go for ford focus. They give you too much features to be ignored.

i've not driven the ford but please do go test it. polo it just purely for the engine and dsg only.
