even if the service period is still so far away...
it is your right as a consumer to bring your product (in this case, car) in for a check as to what might be the issue... edit: so just send in to the nearest VW Service center for them to have a look... This post has been edited by kcng: Mar 16 2013, 01:58 PM |

u can bring it to any authorised service center. it is abit of screw up from vw malaysia how they deal with the situation where they have several agents. umw toyota did this very well although there are many agents but the image potrait to the consumer is very good - they are all the same regardless of who own it.

QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Mar 16 2013, 04:20 AM) Hi guys, Hi!thanks for the advice on the Auto Hold thingy on the Tiguan. I think it doesn't work that time is because at that time the passenger doesnt have his seat belt on. I guess that's what causing the problem. Another thing, whenever my dad starts his car, a warning will appear "Check Oil Level" and the warning sign appeared is something like this: (image taken from the internet) This car haven't gone for first service. The salesman said first service only needed to be done at 15000km or 365 days, whichever comes first. But this car haven't even gone for more than 6500km, and it's still 204 days away from the service. Can anyone advise please? Some say Glenmarie is the best service centre, some say it's worst. Thanks. VW cars especially models with turbo/super-chargers consumes quite a bit of engine lubes, and especially when the car is still new. Advisable to check the car's engine oil level every 2500km when it is below 10,000km on the odometer. Always have a bottle of spare Castrol Edge 5W-40 or 0W-40 with you to top up, and top up whenever necessary. I 'm an owner of a Tiguan. Already went through 1L at 2000km! p/s: yeah, the autohold function won't work unless the passenger-seat-belt light gets turned off... This post has been edited by kslee79: Mar 16 2013, 09:26 PM |

Just top up will do but that thing costs RM6X! comes with carry pouch and some funnels and gloves... anyone know if outside can buy and fill up ourselves? TQ. BTW, just realised that one of my neighbours also have a Tiguan... same colour, same spec. hehe |

QUOTE(meteoraniac @ Mar 15 2013, 10:32 AM) lets wait for the next few months and see whether the new owners will get the same problem (guinea pig im a newbie here. may i know what prob are u referring to? i went to sg besi showroom yest, and test drove mk7. was told that because the mk7 uses single turbo, instead of twin charged engine on mk6, thus lower maintenance cost. Do u guys think its true? I've heard that VW has DSG prob, do u think that by having single turbo, there will be less likely to hv the DSG problem? |

Golf TSI Mark 6, used DSG 7 Speed Dry Clutch. This unit is prone to mechatronic problem, not just an issue in Malaysia but worldwide.
The same unit is being used in Mark 7 which you test drove. Some people claimed the supercharger was dropped to prevent this issue, but honestly I didn't buy it. Time will tell (put it 6-9 months) before we maybe see a unit of brand new Golf started having this issue |

DSG issue is a DSG issue; nothing to do whatsoever with a supercharger. With the Mk7 using the same DQ200 box that the Mk6 (and several other VW cars) is a relief to myself as an existing owner. This means that either:
1. Prevailing problems will continue to be worked on (big whew for me). 2. They've found a way to remedy the issue. Just my 2 cents. |

Guys, just have a quick question as I am quite a newbie when it comes to VW cars. The Tiguan which I happen to own... does it uses a problem-prone DSG gearbox? Wet or dry clutch eh? TQ...
