Today I tested the Golf Mk7. Its very refined and smooth indeed. The ride is comfortable and quiet inside the cabin. Good quality plastics used gives the car a premium feel.

On a side note, when I was on the highway at full throttle, I got smoked by a Mazda 3 MPS. tongue.gif

My only concern is the dreaded 7sp dsg. I'm looking at a new jetta now. getting bored of the old "H" brand. I wonder how is the reliability on the newer MUs

Nah it was just at 'D' mode smile.gif . There is actually not much difference in 'S' mode as it only drags the gears longer before shifting up.

I was at the fast lane doing about 110kph ++ and increasing while the Mazda MPS from behind just went to the middle lane and overtook me effortlessly. cry.gif I was so speechless when that happened. lol

The SA told me that the Mk7 uses a new 'improved' version of the 7spd DSG and he claims that there isn't anymore issues with it.

According to him there will be a price revision for the Golf MK7 and Golf GTI MK6 where it is expected to increase by RM5-6k and RM27k respectively due to increase in tax by government.

Bro, u should directly write email to VW Germany. Do your part to improve the service level. Most of the car service centre's in Malaysia are like shit because of Bolehland attitude. Its nothing much wrong of the car.Its the people who "F" Up the car.

Thanks for the invite bro.
But currently posted overseas. haha. That's why looking for a car. Will maybe hold it until a good discount comes along.
What I've read so far, does point to Golf being more susceptible to clutch pack and MU failures than jetta. Not sure if that is just due to volume, or is it really down to ECU tuning cause I thought both 1.4TSI were the same engine+gearbox pairing.

Wanna bet this will happen after election when gov breaks all promises? whistling.gif
No but seriously, they are talking about reducing the tax. But that's what it is. All talks.

back to topic, I wouldn't call it a new version. Improved maybe. I think Sam commented that there are newer revisions of the DSG. But we haven't had that many 2013 models around and that long into usage to determine if anything will go wrong. Still, i mostly hear of 2010-early 2012 models that are most affected by it.

I wonder if there will be a Jetta facelift this year... hmm.gif I doubt a CKD will be true right?

Mazda 3 MPS..
totally wicked car...
very powerful yet understated...
sweat.gif

u see them, u move aside... even if you are driving a GTi...
end of story...

cuz most of them on the road now are easily putting out anywhere between 400-500NM of torque on the wheels...
so go figure....
