Hey guys,

I just had to ask this out of curiosity.
With the dispute between China and Japan now, I wonder what is the chances of the
Japanese Kastam, denying the "Permission to Land" on the basis that you're Chinese
from Malaysia although having zero relations / ties with Mainland China or zero support for China?

It would definitely be shame to have obtained the visa
but yet denied entry into the country  cry.gif  cry.gif

i doubt you will have issues
most people know china chinese != other place chinese.
however its best to start googling just in case someone blog it out bout this issue

Just submitted my visa application just now..haha. Apparently there will be a protest at the Japan embassy regarding the islands dispute of course. Not sure who are the ones protesting.

But seems the embassy road was closed 1 hr yesterday due to protest..

Luckily i back from Japan last week. The island issue is getting worst. Dont know what will happen in the future. Those China's chinese just cant let go of their past where the Japanese Occupation happens.

Well, i think most chinese that generations hate the Japs really really bad. Cant really blame them.

On the tsukiji fish market, I dont think I am capable of grabbing the limited visitor pass for the tuna auction. What else can I do over there, any stalls, apart from sushi restaurants? The market closes at noon?

Anyone here in Tokyo who wanna meet up this Sat or Sun? Sunday I plan to go Yoyogi park, Harajuku, Shibuya, Tokyu Hands etc. Saturday noon, gonna go to Ome, and free during night time. PM me~

--------------

Human nature, I just did Tsukiji this morning... shared a cab with fellow hostelmates to go there. We reached the Fish Information Centre at 4.40, and we are in the second group d. But depends on ur luck also, because my friend told me that he got a place even though he came after 5am.

For things to do around... go to a station and watch the rush hour crowd XD. Didnt know what to do that early, because the museums and what not wasnt opened yet. Also, for those interested, Sushi Daiwo had a super long line that curved around the corner by around 6.20am. So if you plan to do that, maybe come on non fish market days, or very early. For things to do in the area, check out Ginza attractions. Takashimaya is a station or two away, and riding their lifts is an experience by itself.

If I want to travel within Osaka, (shin osaka, Umeda, Minami, dotonbori, Kita. etc), which train do you suggest and is there a week pass for that?

According to hyperdia, each ride at least 350 - 600 Yen, and if I want to commute within osaka, station to station, that would cost me a bomb.

I will be staying somewhere in Fukushima .

Edit: JR Line is good, yes?

Fukushima as in Sendai Fukushima?
Then its the 7day JR-pass what u wanna get(28300yen) as it covers the Shinkansen from Tohoku to Kansai and local Kansai JR. It however does not cover osaka subways.
But you can get to most part of osaka via JR lines
