Do LYN Club Japan have any 8/7 days suggested itinerary for Traveling Tokyo?
I will be there at mid Nov..Plan to visit most of the tourist places in Tokyo & Mt.Fuji.

Would like to take tour to Mt.Fuji.. I only travel around Tokyo. Therefore, would definitely wanna try out bullet train to Mt.Fuji.

Is this tour worth it?

Cheaper option rather than this RM600 trip is by taking Odakyu freepass as per 1st pg compiled info. Only ~5,000yen (RM200) return trip but DIY.

My shortlisted place in Tokyo as follows:

1. (reach shinjuku in the afternoon)
Shinjuku
Harajuku
- Meiji Jingu Shrine & Yoyogi Park
Shibuya
[Stay around Shinjuku Station?]

2.
Sensoji Temple
- Nakamise Dori
Ueno Park
Akihabara
Ginza
Imperial Palace
- Imperial Palace East Garden (Kyoko Higashi Gyoen)
Tsukiji Market
Tokyo Tower (Nightview)
[Stay around Ginza/Ueno? for 2 days]

3.
Disney Resort
[same hotel before this]

4.
Sightsee Rainbow Bridge
Odaiba - Gundam

>> Evening time take Shinkansen train back to Osaka and overnight at airport.

So, does my suggestion look convenient? Please advice on where should I base in these days in Tokyo.
*
Day 1: Is this a Sunday? Harajuku is best visited on a Sunday.
Perhaps you can consider Sunroute Plaza Hotel Shinjuku or Century Southern Tower. Depends on your budget.
You can make Shinjuku your base so you don't need to keep changing hotels.

Day 2: It's better to go Tsukiji in the morning. before 9am. Or 4-5am for the auction.
You can try Shinjuku Tokyo Metropolitan Government building for viewing. It's free

Day 4: Lots of things to do in Odaiba. Gundam, Toyota Megaweb, Onsen, Tokyo Joypolis, Miraikan...

Have fun!

Can somebody pls help? Been researching for the past 4mths but still not heading anywhere.

Destination : Osaka/Kyoto/Kobe
Travelling period : 25/3/2013 arriving Kansai 22.40 - 1/4/2013 departing Kansai 2325
2 female.

1. Should we bunk at Kansai or head out to Osaka/Kyoto on arrival - will transportation be available ?
2. Where will have higher probability to view Cherry Blossom during this period - Osaka/Kyoto ?
3. Is there time to slot in any other place ?

We don't know how to plan now due to the late night arrival. The transportation on arrival is giving us headache to plan & we don't know how to plan our stay now - whether to start with Kyoto or Osaka.

We thought want to head to Kyoto to save travelling time but arriving at maybe 0200 -0300. What we gonna do ?

Thanks very much.

You can buy shinkansen tix at any shinkansen station.
If you want a preserved seat, you may consider buy in advance, but i dont think this week is major holiday.
If you want to be cheap, you can try first-come-first-serve non-reserved car at 1-5. If theres empty seat, u get the seat wink.gif

please take note where you want to go on the Shinkansen.
You can take the Kodama or Hikari, but obviously Kodama will be slower as it will stop at every station while Hikari skips lots of station.
Make use of the Hyperdia tool to have your Hikari+Kodama combo wink.gif

Hi guys,

I really need advice on this. I tried using the search function
but nothing turned out to be useful and doesn't answer my
questions so far.

I'm going Japan next week and it seems that phone rentals / prepaid sims
are too expensive with almost 40k yen charged deposit. (14k = RM500+, 40k = RM1k++)
I can't really afford that for my budget travel.

So, I was just wondering, if I get a prepaid card here,
will it still work in Japan since it's 3g network?
Which network has the best rates for roaming?

And how is it charged? 2g? 3g?

I'm using Galaxy Note by the way.
Will it work in Japan?

I need to make some local voice calls
and send international sms only.
Data plan not necessary.

Thanks. notworthy.gif

Which network are you using?
What is the charges?
Does it matter if I did not apply 3g here, will it still work?
