15 Sept, Sat – Nara (Day Trip)

There's some things I need to confirm?

1) Is my itinerary doable? Especially in Kyoto whereas I want to cover loads of places? As for Tokyo, I'll just go with the flow, have some places that need to go, and some others can skip.

2) As per my itinerary, do I need a JR PASS? I plan to take Shikansen from Kyoto to Tokyo anyway. I read SUICA is more advisable in Tokyo than the JR PASS.

3) Any more comments or suggestion is warmly welcomed.

im wondering is it hard for us to apply visa now? anyone recently applied visa? smooth process?  the bloody stupid island issue..cis..wad so good abt that island anyway.

can somebody answer me if my flight arrived at Osaka at night 10pm++. Can I still able to check in to the hotel i book / reserved?

Desk. You have to printout your online statement or any copy of statement or saving book and give the copy to your bank. They will know how to certify once you tell them for Japanese VISA purposes  One of the odd countries wth theier weird VISA requirment

Hope someone that just did their japan visa can confirm this whether they reallly need a letter or the old method will do.
My travel agent gave me their own form to fill in oh. Better i fill in both 

err i went public bank and ask them to print statement and certify bank slip for me.. no need to pay wo

Statement & letter from the bank is different. The letter has to be on a letterhead.

Statement anytime print also will be free.

sigh.. i went pg japan consulate for the visa purpose.. maybe they has diff set of protocol
for example, i asked about the bank slip, for pg the officer told me need at least 10k whereas ppl do visa at kl only need 6k bank slip

I planned to buy Google Nexus 7 16GB. But Asus Malaysia selling at RM999 and Japan selling it only at 19800yen (about RM770). Since I going to travel there on November 2012. I wanna ask

yeah, i was thinking of borrowing some money to pump into my account for maybe a week. then go apply visa 
so you are saying its not that strict like what some of my colleagues are saying? btw, when did you apply? maybe the regulation has become more strict since then

Day trip is ok, it would be better if overnight to enjoy onsen over there. Since you have limited time, no choice, but you wont regret it.

For your question, do you heading back to Tokyo after Hakone?
If so, Hakone freepass included your return trip as well.
If not, then you may just get ur pass at odawara.

Are you a JR holder?
If yes, get a JR train to Odawara & buy the cheaper pass.

Hi, no one can guarantee whether pack or not. But for tourist hot spot, usually there will be packed during weekend, esp Saturday.
Nikko, one of the World Heritage site, what do you think? 

my manager is bringing alot sets of winter clothing.. but seeing the temperature thr.. i was not convince it is necessary.. how ah? should i bring 1 set or just buy the normal wool shirt..

Hakone free pass offer unlimited ride on 7 transportations in Hakone area while Fuji Hakone pass covered transportation from between Shinjuku, Lake Kawaguchiko and Hakone. Of course, Lake kawaguchiko would be the one offer better and more stunning mt fuji view due to proximity. Lake kawaguchiko is more commercialise. Hakone is more adventure & interesting. If you have spare time, or 1 and half / 2 days there, you would have enuf time to visit both. From kawaguchiko, you can get up to 5th station of mt fuji or even hiking at mt fuji, different experience of Mt Fuji.

i land in osaka, return via osaka as well. Osaka & Nara - Kyoto - Hakone - Tokyo - Osaka
JR is inevitable.

How many days you have? You can do Osaka-Hiroshima-Tokyo. Depends on where u fly back. If fly fishing back via Osaka, u can do Osaka-Hiroshima-Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka, so that your jr can cover Hiroshima and Tokyo to Kyoto.

Overnight at hotel in airport also expensive i think it's 200USD, the hotel that i plan to book is around in Shinjuku

by taxi. Our flight was delayed (damn AA) and we missed the last bus/train.
