Student = Basu ga kimasen. Watashi wa hitori de daigaku e ikkimashita. Hitori de niju-fun gurai kakarimasu.
Sensei = So desu ka. Dozo okake kudasai.
Student = Arigatou gozaimasu.
Sensei = Kyo lesson wa sekai no machi ni tsuite shimasu. Anata wa Tokyo e ikkimashita ka
Student = Iie, ikkimasendeshita. Demo... watashi wa Parisu e ikkimashita.

Student = Hikoki de hachi-ji gurai kakarimasu. ( This one I main bantai saja)

Basu ga kimasen. Watashi wa hitori de daigaku e ikkimashita. Hitori de niju-fun gurai kakarimasu.

Watashi wa hitori de daigaku e ikkimiashita. means i went to uni by myself. doesnt make sense. i could still take a bus and go to uni. or a car or something.

Watashi wa aruite daigaku e kimashita. means i walked to the uni. use kimashita instead or ikkimashita because u're already at the uni.

Basu ga kimasen. -> basu ga kimasendeshita (past tense)

hachi-ji = 8 o'clock , hachi-jikan= 8 hours

if u want a more fluid speech, drop the watshi, its understood ure talking about yourself.

dozo okake kudasai -> im not too sure what okake means but i think its used when addressing people of a higher status.

use dozo suwatte kudasai.

good point there - many doesn't realize this simple yet very important fact. Japanese is a "selfish" language - that means you are always talking about yourself unless another person or thing is explicitly mentioned.

can also say as "今日はあなたの顔色が悪いよ" (romaji: Kyou wa anata no kaoiro ga warui yo.)

literally meaning "today the color of your face looks bad", but it can mean looks pale or not healthy or something.

after this sentence, you can add on like "dou shimashita ka?" to ask what happen to him/her.

Hey guys,

Quick question:

わたしはとうきょうへいきます and わたしがいくとうきょう

The 2 sentences has the same meaning, significance and politeness right?

As far as I know its something like active and passive sentences.

Sorry for my bad Japanese (if any). Still beginner biggrin.gif

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think you can "passive"-fy that sentence.
Anyway, passive form is not in that form either (if I am not mistaken). Can't exactly remember it at the moment. blush.gif blush.gif

Yeah I mean its not actually active and passive sentences. Just a case in example. So the 2 sentences have no difference in meaning yeah? Any experts care to help me verify sad.gif

さびしいですね

That means lonely but what does "desu ne" means / purpose of it in that context?
