Maxis's 'maintenance' is probably the cause of the slow browsing. Unfortunately it'll last till Aug 31st...
*
Mayb, but the one they r maintaining rite now is P2P traffic...

i think this is totally another problem which they need to address doh.gif
worst we need to wait for September maintenance round sad.gif

holy cow man..
they charge u 218 on the 3rd bill?
they deserve to be screw kaw2
*
went to maxis center to see salesperson who did my application and showed her my bill and she went to ask her backroom people.....
after coming out, she say will refund me in the next bill total amount of rm318

this month bill was rm218+rm218=rm436-rm118=rm318

glad of the fast decision and no question ask compare to the maxis call in customer service which suck and cannot make any decision on the spot...

I'm 'feeling' like I'm getting better connection quality tonight (and today in general), sort of like back to 'before so-called maintenance' connection quality. Certainly not seeing any 'looking up www.' delays in my firefox status bar.. btw i'm using the default maxis dns.

anybody else getting some improvement?

I used IE as I feel FF is "always" trying to resolve the DNS.
IE will give immediate failure, thus just a refresh is faster.

Currently my ping to most players in G-arena is 250ms-300ms. This seems to be so much WORSE than my Streamyx previously. I can't even play a few games of DOTA after work. This sucks!!!

I wonder when is the commencement of your billing cycle, from today or from the day Maxis install the Thomson router?

my billing invoice is today, and my quota already reset when i checked this morning, and i feel the connection speed is back to the state before i reach the 100GB so called limit.. i guess if you overuse your 100GB quota, you'll be throttled...

yes, maxis says no quota implemented yet, which is true, but it seems they silently throttle you when you reach your limit... sort of FUP...

ok i need to check again when i'm back at home.... i started experiencing the slow down last weekend, the time when i heard maxis is doing some maintenance which also coincide with my overuse of quota... if the slowdown still persist, then i cannot conclude that it is because of the overuse of quota, may be because of the maintenance or something else..

No need to check, you got me to confirm. My usage is well below quota but the last few nights the speed was like throttled. This morning back to normal.

Try not judge your speed base on torrent-ing. Some torrent just lack of good seeds therefore the speed is like crawling.

I always try my speed by download something form IPSW website. http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/. If your connection is normal then I am sure you'll see the download speed constantly at 1000kps ++

Mine is pretty normal... as my usage is also normal.
Direct Downloads for me to get 3GB in one hour (cant' complain)... no torrenting.
