Nope, no such thing. But I do believe that is maxis' hotspot (Saw it in several locations, including my university. All public places)

But I'm sure it comes from my router. When I turn off my router, the SSID disappear!

Most likely they're using your router for Hotspot then... just curious, are you staying near public places (shop lot, etc) at landed building or high rise condos? shocking.gif

rclxub.gif No idea how Maxis target users then.. but I think high-rise should be less likely to be "affected" by it (due to the height and etc).

You must be unlucky sad.gif

at least if you run out of your quota (whenever they finally decide to implement it), you'll have the public hotspot to fall back on biggrin.gif

Thompson USB port can be used for wireless USB modem. It works with Celcom wireless USB modem.

This is how I test it in Thompson router.
1. Disconnect eInternet
2. Connect mInternet
3. Same SSID name.

Try yours.

Added on July 4, 2012, 7:19 amI'm Maxis Home user almost 3 weeks. So far so good biggrin.gif .

Maxis is exploring on my alarm when trigger cannot call out due to pulse dialing instead of tone dialing issue since last 2 weeks. P

Please add me into the 1st page.
Thank you

It is because the option is enabled when it was setup...
You can setup the router again and uncheck the Maxis Hotspot

eveything is ok, voip phone is ok ah.

they didn't drill any hole, they just use the current telephone port. if your telephone line no tone, then got problems liao, the maxis guy told me, he face the customer telephone line no tone, tm guy go to riser there check, telephone line was stolen...damm shit, need to postpond until the tm replace the telephone cable...

anyway, the installation(if no problems) take less 1 hours, my is around 45minutes, because at first the tm guy said no tone from telephone, then go to riser there check, telephone cable plug into wrong port, then everything is smooth... just wait the tm guy waste 1 hours...
*

i did not say to lay down unorganised on the floor..
u nailed it to the wall nicely..then it will be zero harm..
i'm living with my parents also..& i have networking at home..cables everywhere.
so to prevent tripping n unnecessary hazard, we nailed on the wall nicely.. icon_rolleyes.gif

understand, but still do not like that solution via RJ11... somemore too long for me... what is the maximum length?

not good at nailing etc, really

any other possibility?

if rj11 the only solution, most probably will cancel my installation

someone said in Thread1 can be done... not sure if it's meant for landed properties only... high rise can do or not?

Better don't cancel.
1st cancel they charge you rm200.
2nd reschedule will take you forever.

Buy homeplugs then. But modem still in living room.

i want the modem to connect directly to my pc... a must, critical as i need to upload files daily... using wifi too risky with the inconsistent connection and router
