Anyone know what's the password for the ID 'Administrator' in our Thomson router?
Tried leaving it blank, Administrator / Administrator, Administrator / admin, Administrator , <Access key behind the router> to no avail. |

QUOTE(zDarkForceSz @ Jul 3 2012, 09:49 PM) Me. They promised to call me today but FFK. I wanted to check my reg status scare they misplaced then didn't submit. Until now say want call malam dy no call at all. First time experience this. Ask for $ time never late. Had similar issue, which the TM's contractor FFK'd me two weeks ago. Just lodge your complain to forum + call them. If ineffective, add a CFM complain and they will suddenly, be very efficient. At least mine works. Takes them forever to reschedule an appointment but immediately after my CFM complaint, they do things "quickly" One thing I still dislike is that, they are still avoiding responsibilities by simply telling me. Sir, I understand but we cannot help you as it its TM's staff. Seriously I know it's TM staff but Maxis should really do better in scheduling management, which in fact they did well with customers (At least 3 to 4 calls to remind me of the installation date), why not with contractors as well? Added on July 3, 2012, 10:32 pmOh I almost forget, anyone tried to call International numbers using the deck phone? Can't find the + (plus sign), not sure how to dial international numbers without it This post has been edited by polarzbearz: Jul 3 2012, 10:32 PM |

QUOTE(duckaton @ Jul 3 2012, 10:53 PM) High rise installation. High rise installation here. I can confirm that you can go ahead with whatever you prefer (either terminate first or later).Maxis will come and install on the SAME TEL LINE that uses streamyx. so, have to cancel streamyx before maxis can install or can install maxis, then go terminate streamyx. some say terminate first, some say terminate later. who has install on high rise using streamyx before can confirm? I scared of no terminate streamyx first, maxis come say cannot install, have to wait another 3 months The moment TM + Maxis guy come and set-up, TM will just go to the connection centre (or whatever it's called) in your building / block, switch your port settings to their unifi / home fiber (HSBA) port. I realised the TM guy had arrived (Maxis' guy already beside me, I was doing my web development, online) the moment my internet went off with no ADSL signal. (The TM guy just reconfigure/remove/unplug/change setting/i don't really know what he do behind), moments later he came up to configure TM's modem configuration and viola! I'm activated with high speed fiber. The only problem is, I think, TM / Maxis did not activate my account and they couldn't get my connection to online, although the DSL signal is there. They just called back to centre to check and few minutes later, everything's done Sorry for my long post tho, TL;DR version: Doesn't matter if you terminate now or later, they're gonna replace your existing port with new installation anyway. |

QUOTE(unique-collection @ Jul 3 2012, 11:21 PM) http://www.complaint.cfm.org.my/Anyway, here's a heads up to those who seek to BT using Maxis Home Fiber. I'm not really into downloading/uploading stuff ever since few years back, when streamyx is throttled.. but decided to give it a try after the long lost "feeling" No piracy intended. Just sharing what speed is achieved with Maxis 10MB FTTH via VDSL @ High Rise Building [attachmentid=2928053] Sidenote: The upload speed seems to be ridiculously low. Any other BT users facing the same problem? Port's forwarded correctly. Using private IP at the moment but already submitted my request for public IP. Doesn't seem nice not to have 1:1 DL:UL ratio Added on July 3, 2012, 11:40 pm QUOTE(helldagger @ Jul 3 2012, 11:25 PM) still no onaswer on how to change to public ip? i need to improve on my gaming ping If you look close enough, the answer is stated clearly in the first page.Added on July 3, 2012, 11:25 pmstill no onaswer on how to change to public ip? i need to improve on my gaming ping This post has been edited by polarzbearz: Jul 3 2012, 11:44 PM |

QUOTE(DrPitchard @ Jul 3 2012, 11:46 PM) Call back to activate the account. Yes, only activated upon installation, also means, the minute that your account starts to run and you will need to start paying for the service.... :-) Ah, I see. By the way, do you have any idea about the mylaunchpad? I can't seem to log-in with my VOIP# + NRIC. Double-checked and even tried different combinations of input (with or without hash, with or without 60, etc) |

QUOTE(zeroty @ Jul 4 2012, 01:14 AM) Do u guys have a unsecured SSID named "maxis" when the router is turned on? So this is the Maxis hotspot thing? Nope, no such thing. But I do believe that is maxis' hotspot (Saw it in several locations, including my university. QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ Jul 4 2012, 12:52 PM) Anyway, Thomson Router seems to be limited in terms of configuration.. can't find MAC Filtering or I'm missing out things If I want to hard-reset the router, what are the things I need to take note / reconfigure later? 1) Maxis account id 2) Maxis account password (+1 behind) 3) Telephone number. 4) What else? |

My Internet was out suddenly after restarting. Initially thought it was router problem until I saw the word 'Authentication failed'.
So hard to get through Maxis Home Fibre Calling Centre... Took me 5 minutes for someone to pick up my call, then the call dropped for no apparent reason Called again and another 5 minutes later, went through all the normal procedures and instructions (restart router lah, modem lah etc) and only that fella finally check my request - whether if it's because maxis updated my account to public ip. After getting his answer and try few more instructions, still authentication failed (change @home to @maxis) Then I noticed there is WAN Easy Setup for high speed Internet + public ip + voip (currently set to hsi + voip). The public ip ones required additional details for subnet mask, which the CS couldn't provide me with, even after transferring the call to their technical department. In the end all I get is 'we cannot provide you with the subnet mask because your maxis account is not set to public ip yet although it's been approved. All you can do is try and wait while we check for you' I felt like I'm going merry go around Those who had successfully changed to public ip, what are the full steps in configuration? |

QUOTE(kenjixx @ Jul 4 2012, 03:44 PM) better wait for maxis personnel to call you back for instruction... our part is just changing from @home.maxis.com.my to @public.maxis.com.my That's the thing I hate about Maxis. Out of 5 complaints / requests / etc, none had a successful call backs. I have to call them myself to prompt them on the case |
