unifi still no quota, they wan to impose quota?

no worry, I doubt they got the guts to impose quota.

anyway, their operator called me just now to confirm my installation next week.
I shouted at him

I'm not even able to register to mylaunchpad for the past three weeks. And yes, 603 prefix included.

I can't be bothered to wait 30 minutes on the helpline to complain.

Try to call the Maxis HOME CS at graveyard hours to get someone to write down your request. Get a case number.

Why don't they just reply something like 'it is not true' or 'will not implement until further notice' at their own forum? They choose to keep quite meaning that they admit on that?

This is bad. Should stick with Screamyx. No wonder so cheap the price

Gee...!! If it is true, then it will open up an opportunity for the customers to cancel the service without paying the penalty and arbitrate their non payment with SKMM based on Maxis misleading "short" unlimited quota advertisement. I personally think that SKMM will side the consumers.

But, let's just wait till 10 Aug. I doubt Maxis will implement quota so unreasonably early.

strongly agreed, implementing quota just a couple of months after the launch (or just a month after the close of the offer) has got to be a new Malaysian record laugh.gif we really should make some noise to the SKMM (as a group, for good measure) should this happen come August 10th cool2.gif

QUOTE(toofriggingslow @ Sep 4 2010, 04:07 PM)
*** UPDATE ***  Maxis FTTH SUCKS big time !!! 40Gb quota strictly will be in force even in their 1st month of operation, the speed will be throttled to 10% which is only around 0.6Mb !!! BOYCOTT - don't sign up, cancel your interest registration !!! Let them dig their own grave !!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maxis FTTH (Fiber-to-the Home) already launched 1st Sept 2010 in Bandar Utama Phase 11 & Phase 12, and I am using it now !

I stay in Bandar Utama Jalan 12/7, on 1st Sept, a team technical crew came to install the new fiber broadband from Maxis.
Another crew of relations officers also dropped by my home, with a hamper of gifts, a video shooting team & a carricature artist.

The installation process does take up quite a long time, as they are all on a sharp learning curve.
At one point, there were more than 10 techincal people from both Maxis & Huawei in my house, doing all the necessary checks.

There are 3 sets of equipments after the installation.  A Huawei-Echolife ONT terminal, a Maxis-Thomson RGW residential gateway & a Maxis-Aztech DECT cordless phone.

There is only 1 package on offer at the moment, 6Mbps.
They say later will have upgrade packages from 6Mpbs, up to 24Mbps.

There is no IPTV included in the package, it will be added later, as they are still doing vigorious testing.

The offer price for the 1st batch of early-bird subscribers is RM118 per month, free for the first 2 months, and free installation costs.

The DECT phone also come with free :

i)  unlimited calls to a Maxis fixed line number
ii) 500 minutes per month to a Maxis mobile number
iii) 200 minutes per month to United States, Singapore, China or Hong Kong

For time being, I am still not sure about the FUP download limit.
Guess I will find out soon, as I try to use & download stuff.

I believe this Maxis offering will be a strong competition to TM Unifi 5Mbps package of RM149 per month.

I have attached some pictures.

That's all my report for now.. going to enjoy more high-speed broadband now !

The difference is only RM11 or RM1 (non maxis mobile customer) compare to Unifi VIP5 and faster speed for local servers only. Overseas servers sama sama saja.
If 10mbps local server's speed is not your priority, than I think you get better value in Unify VIP5 with FREE IPTV set top box + Installation + 8mbps dedicated unlimited IPTV line.

I personally think that Maxis will implement quota limit earlier than TM Unify.

i think there are other things that is missed out in the consideration

Maxis offer free minutes for oversea calls (10 countries) + maxis mobile no + now 1800 also free already + local calls fix line calls only 5 sen/min

although TM offers free fix line calls, not sure if it will be used heavily

anyway, it really depends on the users needs (for me, maxis ftw cuz i really like their overseas call minutes. help me save cost in my biz rclxms.gif )

not very clever to have frequent calls overseas for biz.
This is not 2002, this is 2012

ever heard of skype?
most biz uses im for communications, not the "telephone"

some things you just can't explain very well by text, so have to talk if IM failed to get message across

as to skype voice, i tried before, it is quite lagging (mainly cuz the china internet connection slow, not my side)

oh and for me, my wife has some relatives in sg. so can chat more freely now

I didn't mention about the free minutes because the current RM138/RM148 package is no longer attractive as compare to the RM118 package. The free minutes was reduced to mere 100min from 600min previously and so is free minutes on Maxis mobile.

So I regarded free minutes in Maxis and unlimited TM fixed line call as equal value.

My Maxis Fiber internet is down for 2 days. I had tried to restart both of the maxis Thomas and TM ZTE 931DII modem. The problem still remain the same. The ZTE 931DII modem keep restarting when the DSL cable in plugged.

Once the DSL cable is plugged into ZTE modem, the DSL light is flashing slow around 10 seconds then flashing fast around 10 seconds then the modem automatically restart. This problem keep looping.

If the DSL cable is unplugged, then the modem work as normal. I had tried to change another DSL cable, the problem is same.

Any one facing this problem? Any solution? Thanks
