I need confirmation for those who have installed in highrise using vdsl.
if currently using streamyx,

need to terminate streamyx first
or
terminate after maxis installation.

TQ

Thanks for all the answers.

The question is bcos the CS tells me MUST terminate streamyx before they can install Maxis.
I ask why? they say dunno.

I would prefer to terminate the streamyx AFTER maxis fibre is running.

Ha, got such thing meh?

No one tell me about this!

Confuse lah
*
High rise installation.
Maxis will come and install on the SAME TEL LINE that uses streamyx.

so, have to cancel streamyx before maxis can install
or
can install maxis, then go terminate streamyx.

some say terminate first, some say terminate later.
who has install on high rise using streamyx before can confirm?

I scared of no terminate streamyx first,
maxis come say cannot install,
have to wait another 3 months doh.gif

High rise installation here. I can confirm that you can go ahead with whatever you prefer (either terminate first or later).

The moment TM + Maxis guy come and set-up, TM will just go to the connection centre (or whatever it's called) in your building / block, switch your port settings to their unifi / home fiber (HSBA) port.

Doesn't matter if you terminate now or later, they're gonna replace your existing port with new installation anyway.
*
Thanks for your confirmation.
The maxis CS really doh.gif

*
Just let maxis finished the installation first.

The equipments can be easily shifted in highrise.
Just buy a tel line extension 32m and extend until balcony also can.
no need rj45 or whatchamalits

i just subscribed to the promotion 10mbps package.

anybody got a problem with surfing?

like pages you load are not responsive, you have to keep refreshing the page before you see anything.
the download speeds are awesome though.
*
sounds alot like what danieltay is facing.
not everyone is affected.

any solution yet to this?

no point having fast bb if surfing is not even smooth,

I solve this "concentrator not reachable"
by changing the TM moderm from Lan 1 to Lan 2, problem solved flex.gif
*
glad you solve the problem. rclxms.gif

however, for the benefit of all,

can you explain in more detail how you change from lan 1 to lan 2 on tm modem?
just plug out and plug in? any other configurations to do?
landed or highrise has different modem and brand.

thanks

==================================

currently using streamyx 1mb, trouble free for years odi.
my installation for maxis ftth is early august.
but no bills sent to me yet.

the more i read this thread, the more i am worried.
it's like a nightmare waiting to occur.

if there are unsolvable problems like danieltay (unloadable/hang webpage)
contract is 24 months!

everything need to be done has been done... including a personal visit by thomson router engineer... you can change whatever settings you want... it's up to you to decide if you can stand having to refresh 90% of the time for webpage you open

you use wifi or direct lan connection?

ever consider using customs router to test?

thank you. notworthy.gif

i use direct lan connection

some guys in this forum has tested on custom router... cannot be solved as well

as mentioned, nothing to do with your equipment... this is maxis server centre issue
*
if that is the case,
you have to endure 24 months of suffering...
I dont think i can endure that.

you can terminate maxis if you want without penalty
citing maxis unable to fulfill the contract?

man, now i dun know really to take the risk or not rclxub.gif
my installation early Aug
my streamyx 1m is super stable now

--------------------------------------------
looks like more problems cropping up.
in maxis forum many complain cannot complete download from rapidshare initially.
now looks like all other filehosting sites are also affected.

100000gbps oso no use if surfing is not smooth and filehosting sites cannot complete download.

all the other problem solve by changing a reliable router...
*
yours is landed or highrise?
both custom router different settings. and tm modem oso diff.

if can solve,
then why so many people still complain about the slow website loading,
which i think is not excusable for any isp at any speed at any price.

if can solve, why not post it at the post#1 so that everyone can share

thanks in advance.

100GB traffic quota really isn't a lot compared to Unifi VIP5 60GB download quota.

Added on August 2, 2012, 11:47 am

what's wrong with your router actually? wireless not working issit?
*
Can ask maxis to deduct the traffic they incur for redirecting to mylaunchpad site?
Why unifi no quota but maxis want to impose quota?
anyway, the quota is just rumours...

this quota thing broke the straw for me.
My installation is next week, I have cancelled it.

the CS got the balls to ask me why wanna cancel. vmad.gif
I say:
10mb so what?
10000GB oso no use if surfing oso not smooth and got quota.
Gimme free oso no use, starbucks got free one i can use.

guess I'll be back to my old faithful streamyx 1mbps after all....
come to think of it, better regret now than later.

nope, just expired site certificate. nothing to do with viruses
*
people are just so forgiving in malaysia.
expired site certificate, especially for a https site is ridiculous for an isp.

you're right, it has nothing to do with virus,
it just means the site has security problems and maybe a scam site. brows.gif

Really, if anyone has questions or doubt about maxis ftth, whether worth it or not.
I will ask them to read
The Official Maxis FTTH Thread V1&2

gerenti pening kepala and wont apply maxis. rclxub.gif

it is that bad....
good luck y'all

hope all the issues will be solved soon... thumbup.gif

Let's wait for NEXt friday... But on Maxis Pulic IP we can't even check quota.
*
all mobile, even streamyx got a way to check usage
regardless of ip.

It is just rumours, there wont be quota la...
more so with their redirect to mylaunchpad, how to calculate?
unifi still no quota, they wan to impose quota?

no worry, I doubt they got the guts to impose quota.

anyway, their operator called me just now to confirm my installation next week.
I shouted at him
"cancelled edi la, why u call?
go check with your CS ref number Cxxxxxxxx
I am sleeping you know?

poor guy,
but it feels so good. thumbup.gif
