Absolutely right. Unless we use the mineral engine oil, change every 5k km then...

Sorry to hear that bro.

Lately got news that Forte has been stolen & now your case also..it seems that Forte is fast becoming a hot car to steal now. So Fortezens..please beware all the time especially when u approaching the car..make sure that your surrounding is safe enough. I always put in practice to lock the car's doors as soon as i enter the car..as a safety precaution. But sadly in your case, it happens outside of the car..so u did not have a chance to lock the car from inside & drive away for safety.

I wonder if we can install a separate immobilizer in our Forte..card type perhaps. So they (the thieves) will not be able to start the car though they already got the smartkey..need to survey at the car accessory shop for this.

Now gonna send my car to workshop... see what can i do with my door..
worst scenario replace the door... My $$$$ gone... doh.gif

Hi bros, I got a problem & I hope someone with good mechanical knowledge can help me out. Mine is 1 year old 1.6SX.

My car has a vibration problem. Sometimes when I press on the accelerator, there seems to be vibration at the engine side in front of the driver. The engine is rough & pulsating like you are driving on flat tyre.

The frustrating thing is that it does not always happens. Sometimes on a journey, it happens a few times. Sometimes it does not happen at all! I have sent it to an SC twice to check but everytime I am there, it does not happen no matter how they tried. They even did an engine diagnostic but detected nothing.

Another thing is that at traffic lights in D & foot on the brake pedal, the engine vibrates loudly like it wants to take off by itself but when I shift to N, the idling becomes normal.

By process of elimination, I have:
a. change spark plugs at 20K. The set (Champion) looked carbon fouled, i.e., dry but quite brown around the tip &
b. done alignment & balancing. It is not wheels & tyres because if it is, I can feel it the whole time but now this is not the case.

I suspect:
a. gearbox or drive shaft?
b. engine firing?
c. bad fuel?

Any clues or suggestion which SC best can help me solve this problem? Thanks.

Hmm..it's hard to say if i'm not experience it myself. If the idling is too low, it might cause the vibration. Engine misfiring might also a possible cause. Try change to other fuel brands & see how it goes. Another thing to look for is the fuel filter. If the fuel filter is clogged, engine might vibrate due to insufficient fuel been delivered to the engine. It happens to my Wira last time. Else, try ask SC to reset/reflash the ECU. If i still remember it correctly, last time got update for the ECU setting for the 1.6 Forte..but not sure it's for the 4-speed or the 6-speed Forte or perhaps for both.

when sudden acceleration (gear downshifting), the engine is loud and can feel the vibration at the steering wheel and accelerator pedal, is it normal?

Did anyone here install front strut bar or anti-roll bar to stabilize handling? I understand that our Forte comes with torsion beam suspension, so means our car handling is inferior? hmm.gif

how to put it, even when in auto mode during overtaking for that few seconds you can feel the gear downshifted probably from gear 4 to 2 for power @2500 - 4000 rpm, but at the same time the engine is loud till the strong vibration can be felt frm the steering wheels n pedal, so fast mounting is loose? wish i can see which gear im running instead of just D in auto mode

Elru,
Not sure how is the vibration u encountered.
If from gear 4 to gear 2 (using paddle shift), the engine sound is quite loud and noticeable (similar like engine braking sound when u going down a hill)
There will be jerking and vibration but mild one(similar with the those I experienced when driving a manual car)

Anyone know if there would be a facelift model coming out soon? I plan to get a forte, but my friends told me wait for awhile as kia comes out with facelife models secretly every 2 years or so, the optima and sportage are exmaples of it.

The best part it's happened at jalan damansara around 9pm & a lot of cars passing through
but didn't bother to stop by... doh.gif
this "hit from back" aldy famous nowadays... if u've been hit, don't get out from the car...
go settle at the place where is crowded with people or where is bright areas...

Current model has been facelifted about 1 year+ ago (with the introducing of the Forte 6-speed). I believe there's no other facelift version after this coz the all new Forte should come out by mid next year to end of next year (at least at global market)

i dont remember experience that before, currently my ODO is about 1800km... its happens (mild) when trying to pick up speed, harsher if faster... unless i accelerate slowly then its smooth. perhaps let the engine runs in more.. just worry that the vibration is getting harder.. thanks guy...

This really shouldn't be happening in a "premium" car that costs RM 80K - i would expect something like this to happen only in Protons, and even that, only older models.

Does Naza know anything about this and have they released any information about resolving this issue?
Surely if the car is under warranty you can get the Naza SC's to fix it.
