i have 1 question about this function "Front Active Headsets", what is this mean?
*
I believe what u meant is 'Front Active Headrests' right? Not 'Headsets'. Both front headrests got this feature (active headrests)..meaning that, in the event of a rear collision, the headrests will move up & forward to prevent whiplash injury (on your neck). This is a safety feature for a rear collision.

awesome FC you got there. let me try after 1K service later.

BTW, any idea whether the car still can drive for few more KM if the "distance to empty" is ZERO?

for the 1st service, what will the SC change us and how much for the total service? engine oil and oil filter saja?
*
I believe what u meant is "distance to empty" is BLANK right? no figures whatsoever. If that's the case, i managed to drive about 25km after that but not brave enough to test it at a further distance..too low in fuel is not good for your catalytic converter as far as i know.

but this is a true case not assumption by the SA; just sharing with you guys only. anyway it's up to you la.. smile.gif

Yupp..it's true. I experienced it myself the hard way. I damaged the navigation system in my first HU..the other HU functions works properly except the navigation system (GPS). Never ever copy the original Papago! X8 from other devices & put it in your HU..i can assure u that your HU navigation system will be malfunctioned. I copied the other original version of Papago (before the X8 version came out) before for the HU & it works like wonders..but not the X8. It will ruin your HU GPS for sure (the ori copy of Papago! X8). But, learning from my experience, u can copy & use a cracked version of Papago X8 in your HU without any problem...that's for sure. Anyway, i bought another HU & use the original Papago! X8.5 instead..case close tongue.gif

Hmm..i dont know how to differentiate between the original Papago & the cracked Papago on the China PND (GPS). Who knows it might use the original Papago also. But if your China GPS use the original previous version of Papago (not the Papago X8), from my experience..it's absolutely safe

Ur damaged HU is original forte HU? If u put in original papago sure can't work..because of the com port and baudrate is different and resolution so it will mess up ur HU.
*
Nope..i owned Forte 4-speed that does not come with HU as standard. I bought an aftermarket HU. The first one the navigational software is damaged due to my experimental with the Papago X8, so i bought another HU..this time with the ori Papago X8.5..lol.

I have checked the com port & baud rate. It's the same with my PND..resolution also HD (the same). Still it damaged my HU GPS

So what are the pros and cons of your forte and your wife preve?

Hehe..maybe i will share about his later on. Just received the Preve for 1 week. It's too early to judge it now. Let the Preve done some mileage before i can make any reviews wink.gif

I bought this new HU last year to replace my first HU..& yeah, it come with the original Papago X8.5 as standard. So i dont know the actual price of the Papago software alone in this case

The unit itself is functioning well (for other functions), except the GPS application. I dont know if those IT experts able to solve this problem. If possible, they can take my first HU & help me to recover the GPS function. Then, i can sell the HU cheap cheap..hehe tongue.gif

U set the headlights on auto mode?
That's the feature of the auto headlight.
I still prefer manual on/off.
*
Whether we turn on the auto headlight or not (manual), the headlight will still turn off automatically when we turn off the engine & open the door wink.gif

hi guys,
anyone was charged for this oil/petrol treatment during 1K service? is it necessary?

Looking at your engine oil price..it should be fully synthetic oil already. No need oil treatment for me. Fully syn engine oil is good enough..

*
Just engine oil & oil filter will do for the first service. For washer, since that it is a cheap item (RM3 only), i just change it smile.gif

No light for the rear power window buttons at both the rear doors as far as i know...

hi friends. i have intend to buy forte next week. but i have a question what the diffrence between naza forte and kia forte.. what the diffrence and why naza forte is more cheaper (less rm700-1000) then kia forte.. and i heard naza forte have a some problem like alignment n etc.. it is the same? naza and kia?
*
100% the same. All Forte sedan in Malaysia come with 'NAZA' badge. If u see 'KIA' or 'K' badges Forte on the road, it means that, the owner change the 'NAZA' badge to 'KIA' or 'K' badges by himself coz they dislike the original NAZA badge nod.gif

I believe that there's no such thing as Naza Forte is cheaper than Kia Forte. It's the individual offers by the NazaKia Sales Advisors that make the price differs...

So, if u wanna buy the so called 'cheaper' Forte..please find the sales advisor that can give u a better offers/rebates tongue.gif

Most people downsize their rims to get a thicker one (50 or 55 instead of the stock 45) for a relatively more comfortable ride. However some do downsize for lighter rims for slight improvement in acceleration.

Generally speaking, FC depends on your right foot. If you use smaller rims but still floor the pedal like a madman, the FC will still skyrocket.
*
Yupp..u're right. I'm fall in this category. Prefer comfortable right & better acceleration. So i opted for a lightweight 16" rims with 55 in tire profile. Regarding the FC for my case, for long distance driving with mostly constant speed, the FC is the same from my observation (between 17" & 16" rims). But for mostly town driving with many stop & go situation, my current lightweight 16" rims give better FC than the original 17" rims.

What about the comfortable? I'm sure it would be a lot better right? I'm thinking to downgrade to 16" as well.
*
If u prefer a comfortable ride, as like me, downgrading to 16" rims with a tire profile of 55 will do the trick.

16" isn't using 50 thick? how come is 55? any impact of the odometer?
*
If u refer to the user's manual, if we use 16" rims, the correct tyre size would be 205/55 so that the effect on the odo & speedometer is keep to very minimal. I've double check this with my onboard GPS last time, the difference is about 1-2km/h only

bro izputra,

whats the price range for 16 inch rims to compare the stock ones we used.any big difference?some say 16' is much expensive.i also pening kepala.wanted to down grade to 16' once the standard rim tyre already worn our if can but need to survey the light but heavy duty ones.any recommendation?
*
If i still remember this correctly, my lightweight rims cost me less than RM1500 not including tires. I traded in my ori rims & tires for RM1000. To say that 16" rims is much expensive, i dont think so. I'm not an expert about rims anyway..so cannot recommend u any of it. I just hunt for a lightweight one for a better acceleration. However, keep in mind that there is very very limited choices of 16" rims, 114.3 PCD with 5 thuds (holes) in the market. Most of the 5 thuds rims are 17" and above in size. So in choosing the rim, u might find it difficult to compromise between the looks of the rims & the weight of the rims since that the choice is very limited.

For those who said that the ride on standard 17" rims & tires of the Forte is harsh & bumpy, i suggest that u test drive the car first. Though Forte SX come with sport tuning suspension as a standard setup, the ride is not that harsh & bumpy as long as we keep the tire pressure to its recommended pressure. It's a matter of my personal preference that prefers more comfort offers by the higher profile tire on the 16" rims. Better acceleration is a bonus. But changing to 16" rims will surely compromise on the overall looks of the car i have to say...

*
I use the Continental ContiMAX Contact MC5 on my 16" rims now. It's softer & quieter than the stock tires. Good set of tires for me.
