I am stuck between ranger, guardian and mesmer... played mesmer till 20-ish, ranger till 12-ish, and guardian till level 3.

Liking them all so far (at least, better than necro and mentalist)

41. Yes. In sPvP, if you use the right traits + shield/mace, you can basically stand on (defend) a capture point like a boss, a bit challenging if there's 4v1. That will buy enough time for your teammates to back u up.
As for PvE, GS can kill mobs real fast. (If you have Precision and Power stacked, even faster). Can take 2-3 higher lvl mobs(and veteran) if u switch between shield/mace and other weapons. You have to time your block right and keep symbol of faith up.
They even have 3D screenshot in previous BWE. But not in this BWE3 build, i believe it will be back @ launch.

with the tome of courage, u can tank sooo well...
the same for the dungeons as well (am lvl 46 on my guardian)...
my setup for sPvP is: scepter + focus, sword + shield with 2 summon weapons, retreat and tome of courage spec-ed to 30-0-0-10-10-20

Still going to start as Human warrior, after that it's either Sylvari Ele, Norn Ranger, Charr Guardian or Human Engineer. Ranger barrage is so nice, reminds me of Guild Wars.

probably like assassin in GW Faction, quite hard to master lol
I am using GTX260 only, a few times frame drop, but most of the time it ran fine

Your settings maxed out at 1080p? Usually what fps you're getting. Mine's usually 35-40fps and sometimes 50fps+ in certain areas. Can dip down to about 15fps during PVP

QUOTE(apihblind @ Jul 23 2012, 03:26 PM)
what is ur setting?i use auto set with gtx260 but it seems like lagging, maybe my cpu bottlenecking?

anyone manage to get to beta event?whats that about?

What's your settings? Resolution?GTX260 is quite an old card liao

yeah, no reason to use the other tomes/ elites lol...

the GW2dev guy setup for guardian is very different from mine but his can really chase and burst/ chain cc a target well...
MH sword's blink with the meditation blink into 2H weapon swap is really cool...
was wathcing him last nite and really learn a lot...

i guess this is why i love GW2, every different spec is really viable and depends on ur playstyle a lot...

I didn't check the fps, just my own feeling when playing whether it smooth or not smooth. Running on 1920x1200. I didn't try pvp though, but I did participate in dynamic events with lots of player and spells and stuff being cast. Sorry can't really remember my setting since I just custom it, and can't check now since BWE ended.

hows ur survivability rate at level 18 ooo? can heal enough to kill higher level mobs?
hows ur damage output ooo. can kill pve mobs fast enough?
why jump to warrior?
got try structured pvp as guardian or not o?
pve guardian i only tried a bit. low level saja.
i structured pvp more with guardian this time.
*
I more to pve type of player,

Guardian is good but warrior has higher survival personally though
cause Warrior with Rifle/bow can run and shoot,
guardian range has lower damage than Warrior did

Guardian purely defensive type playing
run around mostly for group mob mob
Guard average my damage are 50~60
good at self healing and more def but dmg output doesnt much as Warrior can up to 200 critical if you got lot of critical
Warrior is fun like hard shell Ranger/Thief

Personal Preference
"Warrior> Thief >Guardian">Engineer
>Ranger>Mesmer>Mages

lol i'm totally opposite of ur preference, well mainly because i like playing range dps class.
i usually start off with rangers in every mmo i play, for some reason the mage seems more interesting to me in gw2.

not everyone likes mmo, it might not suit u, or u're having abit of culture shock if u're new to the genre.
i enjoy mmo game mainly because of community, u get the chance to interact with almost anyone in the server/realm.
this is my 1st BWE and it had met my expectation so far, will have to see how the end game content goes (the gw1 gives me quite abit of confidence)

the PVE dynamic event system is a very nice idea, no typical "kill x mobs, go to x location, gather x things", ks-ing bullshit etc in other mmo

Since Saturday, I did join WvWvW with Krom, nerf, joel, beth and the rest of AGGR. Managed to Play WvW with em twice since Sat. But i dint see u ler.

Btw, WvW is too crowded and laggy for me, I prefer PvE. But find it hard to roll with AGGR to play in PvE. Perhaps cuz they spent more time in WvW. What more, im starting as human race and only few of em played as human. I did meet 1 guy with AGGR tag doing PvE quest but they just ignore my party request and not even replied to my whisper  sad.gif

That makes me wanna try to visit to another realm and join my fren there but failed to do so, perhaps due to the BWE restriction.  doh.gif

I learned a way to join a friend just now. Ask your friend invite you into his party. After you join the party, right click on his name and click "Join In", this will transfer you to his server map.

oh, I worked on Saturday. When you guys in WvW, I still lv1 without skills. After 2 hours of playing, went out for dinner with my friends, so I didn't join you guys.

Decided to cancel my physical copy of GW2 and will proceed to buy the digital copy. Don't wanna end up in such a hassle to transfer to the right region.

I think I'll be rolling a Norn ranger in launch day. Feels that Norn peeps are more likeable than Sylvari I rolled in the beta. The Norns are so much eager to make a name out of themselves haha I like that, being straight to the point XD And plus, they're such a bada55 flex.gif haha

Just a thing, do GS ranger damage was nerfed during the BWE3? Can't tell coz I never played the BWE before that.

I think it is partly i didnt really like the Warrior class. Melee is kinda boring, but once i change to bow with some buff spells, i find the game a lot more fun.

Warrior tanks very well though but it tend to die very easily when it comes to boss fights or a huge bunch of enemies. Switching range does solve the problem, and switch to melee when you have the chance to go melee, also, this does make the game whole lot fun. Love the fact that i can play as range warrior without any penalty.

I think Wooden Potatoes is right with a problem with the Heart quest. It feels like traditional questing in most MMO but most of the time, certain Hearts areas does not have any other events at all. It is just a check list of tasks to do. I rather remove the markers on the map so that you can discover it on your own.

aye, thanks for the feedback! well i played a warrior pve in the first public beta weekend event. i think survivability rate not very good lulz but yeah damage out after level 11 greatly increased due to pumping trait that increases precision means more critical hits with rifle.

so basically guardian pve can tank like a boss against most pve mobs? just out heal out tank out survive them?

and deng i just realized i have been playing my guardian pvp with 10 less trait points spent. doh.gif

Can take some damages, but definitely not tanking like other mmo. sweat.gif

@takkicom, yes! Plus, you still gain skill points after 80 like in GW1. Skill points are needed for some craft or forging too (Legendary items)

Edit : They updated it on wiki yesterday. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skill_point
