I am really struggling for 610 and 635, the price is difference for like 600. I am wondering whether it worth the price. is 610 reli "tat bad" that only suitable for normal usage? comparing between N45SL, N55SL, A53SM, A43SM, with all being equal on i5, but different GPU ranged from 610, 630 and 635. Urggghhh!

Video editing is mostly bottleneck by the CPU, unless you have special need for the GPU hardware acceleration like nVidia CUDA..
But if you need it for games, its another story..

QUOTE(jay8411 @ Apr 14 2012, 12:55 AM)
Preferred Brand: anything reliable (but not Acer, I heard is no good  hmm.gif )
2. Budget: 2-2.7k
3. Usage: MS office, surf net, online movies & musics, gaming (FIFA)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14" - 15"

Pls advise. Thanks.  smile.gif

Quite a big price range,
if you prefer better speaker and graphic card,
15'':
Asus N55Sf-S1515v [black], i5-2450M + Nvidia GT555m (2GB) + 1920x1080@2899[Bang & Olufsen]; 750GB (7200rpm), USB3.0, Sonic Master subwoofer *EOL-ed
or if don't mind weaker GPU,
Toshiba Qosmio F750-1008X, i5-2430M + Nvidia GT540M (2GB)@RM2699[2.9kg][harman/kardon], 640GB (7200rpm), color: glossy red

or if prefer smalelr notebook,
14'':
Toshiba Satellite P745-1018X, i5 2450M + nVidia GT525M@RM2699, W7HP

635 vs 610?
More than 100% difference.

Go here (compare all games and tick 555M vs 610M) :
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Game...ds.13849.0.html

Worth it?
Depend whether you will utilize it or not.

IMHO, it's totally worth it. biggrin.gif

The XPS14z is not exactly very suitable for gaming as well...
It all depends on your usage, if your photo editing is quite intense, then choosing a laptop with an i7 processor would be a better pick, i.e.
14"
Lenovo (not exactly your preferred brand but still can be considered)
Y470, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT550M (2GB)@RM2799[JBL], W7HP, 4GB, 750GB (5400rpm), Lenovo P350 headset OR 2 years warranty
Y480, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT640M@2999[JBL] *upcoming

If gaming is your top priority, then the AW m14x is pretty much your only choice nod.gif
*
Actually gaming not my top priority. But I will use it for gaming, I really not a fan of alienware. In my mind is xps14z -i7, 8gb ram, 256ssd. But the gpu is NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 520M 1GB graphics. Is it enough for games like diablo3, Nfs and etc?

14"
Asus
A43Sa-VX083v, i5-2430M + AMD HD6730M@RM2499, 750GB (7200rpm) *If still can find
A43Sm-VX002v, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT630M (2GB)@RM2499[2.4kg]v, 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm)
U46Sv-WX053v, i5-2430M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2599[2.14kg]; USB3.0, Asus optical mouse *lighter + long battery life

Dell
Inspiron 14R, i5-2450M + AMD HD7450M@RM2149[2.38kg], 6GB, 500GB(5400rpm)
Vostro 3450, i5-2450M + Intel HD3000@RM2299, W7HB,backlit keyboard colors: silver/ brown/red
Vostro 3450, i5-2450M + AMD HD6630M@RM2517, W7HB,backlit keyboard colors: silver/ brown/red

I would recommend going for the i5-2450M + Intel HD3000 variant of the Vostro 3450, comes in matte materials, thus more user-friendly when on the go.. comes with 7200rpm HDD as well for faster load speeds~
And best is you still have remaining cash to extend warranty to 3 years (@~RM249 iinm)  thumbup.gif

Gt 520 is a pretty weak GPU bro.

Doubt it can handle d3 properly.

Saw Asus A43SM-VX102V in PC Fair (JB) as well.

i5 2450
2GB DDR (+ another 2GB free upgrade)
500GB
GeForce GT630 1GB

@RM1999

Is this a good catch?

i am looking for;

1. Preferred Brand : non Acer/Dell
2. Budget : ~RM2000k
3. Usage : Online (40%) , some gaming like Dota/HoN/MMORPG (20%) , download drama/movie -40% (connect to my TV to play those drama/movie)
4. Preferred laptop/screen siz : 14inch or 15inch

p/s : Personally quite interested with HP DM4-3001tx @RM2499 ... but kinda out of budget and the Radeon 7470 seems to be far behind GT630

So sifu-sifu, are there any better choice than A43SM at my budget?

budget RM 2000k = RM 2 000 000, need gold plated ka

between Atom D2700 and AMD E-450.. which one is better in term of ms office work, statistic and fb games and mkv movie files? seems that D2700 ranked 350 compared to E450 at 361 at notebookcheck.net.

Unless you are looking at Acer M3, none of the currently ultrabook carry enough power to play such game.
