I am really struggling for 610 and 635, the price is difference for like 600. I am wondering whether it worth the price. is 610 reli "tat bad" that only suitable for normal usage? comparing between N45SL, N55SL, A53SM, A43SM, with all being equal on i5, but different GPU ranged from 610, 630 and 635. Urggghhh!
*
635 vs 610?
More than 100% difference.

Go here (compare all games and tick 555M vs 610M) :
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Game...ds.13849.0.html

Worth it?
Depend whether you will utilize it or not.

IMHO, it's totally worth it. biggrin.gif

I would ask on how hard do you go with VMware? Planning to run more than two vm? What bits are they and any server-based? But of course you can always ultilize the max potential of a vm. Next to me, is a desktop running 4 server vm with 4gb to 8gb configured smile.gif Sadly it isnt mine though  biggrin.gif
*
On my laptop, I can run 5 VM's in VMware Workstation (2x Virtual ESXi, 1x AD, 1x VMware vCenter, 1x VMware View Connection), and also a VM(Windows 8) within a VM(Virtual ESXi). tongue.gif

I just got news that the new U47 will be coming out soon, using new proc and weighing in at only 1.3kg.seems uber tempting. only that it still doesnt have a backlit keyboard

*
That's nice. 1.3kg is kinda light for its look, some more got optical drive.

That was from a Techhypermart lah laugh.gif

I'm not selling so soon also. If the U47VC isn't as big of an improvement then I'll keep it.
Pretty darn decent when it came stock.

*
Could this actually be the spec of the U47VC?

http://www.pcsuperstore.com/products/11594...-U47VCDS51.html

GT620M?

The weight seems abit off though. hmm.gif

It is possible, but if that's the weight and it only has a GT620M then it's not much of an upgrade.

But I was assuming the weight would be 1.5kg.
*
Yeah, that's what I thought about the weight. It shouldn't be 1.8KG if referring to some website.

As for the GPU, if it is true, then like you said, not worth the upgrade.

Review for Lenovo Y480. It has backlit keyboard nao?  drool.gif
As expected GT640M LE performed between GT550M and GT555M.  sad.gif

Those thinking of getting it should REALLY2 wait for the 650M version(GT640M LE not really worth it).

I MEAN IT. biggrin.gif

Looks like it uses the MSI GT620DX chassis. hmm.gif

Yup. Looks like it, now that you mention it. hmm.gif

A GE60 to be more precise? since it is packed with GT650M, and the same placement of the windows button on the keyboard.

I can say for a fact that the laptop will not cost below RM3.5k. The gtx660m will be an option addon which will probably cost an extra 1-2k Ontop of base price of RM2700.
Also due to the relatively thin build of the laptop and the light weight (it's only 2.7kg compared to asus g55 3.8kg) there will be insufficient cooling to support the more powerful graphics card. If u read up online. Alot of ppl have the same ideas.

+1

Just look at the current Y480 price :
http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/control...7FD&action=init

Price range from USD849 to USD1499.

Why would anyone buy the Y480 later if the Y580 cost about the same.

It might have offering of GT 640M LE, GT 650M, and GTX 660M.
Same goes for the screen resolution.

Just my opinion though. tongue.gif

Anything in 14" then?

looking for more portability as I connect it to a monitor in the office, so dont need a big monitor. If it comes in 11" even better. Will Alienware be releasing an ultrabook since they discountinued the MX11?

Apparently, GW2 uses a lot of processing power.
So I've heard, so, that being said. It will affect the performance yes?

If you don't mind the weight go for :
V3-571G-73614G1T, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT640M@RM2899, 4GB, 1TB (2.6kg)

If you do mind the weight go for :
M3-581TG-52466G52, i5-2467M + Nvidia GT640M@RM2599, 6GB, 500GB (2.2kg)
CPU not that powerful, but at least the GT640M will help on the GPU rather than a GT630M or 7670M.

Or

Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + Nvidia GT640M@RM2999[2.38kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm); backlit keyboard optional
Inspiron 15R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M@RM2999, 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm); backlit keyboard optional
Inspiron 15R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) + 32GB SSD + 1TB HDD(5400rpm)@RM3399, 8GB,backlit keyboard optional
