16-35mm amazing lens for hand-held landscape shoot
The VR really work wonders, those who said short FL lens doesn't need VR really need to try this.
I hand held that gem in early morning with very little natural light at above iso1600 and very slow shutter speed. Super sharp all the images.

Some 'low light' handheld landscape I've done on the 16-35, its pretty good. These are taken on a moving cruise ship, VR seem to help with the vibrations too.

Indeed 16-35 good stuff. never regret getting it,

Now if i want a 85mm, 1.8g, 1.8d, or 1.4?

Is 1.4 really worth it? compare 1.8.

heard they are releasing the 18-300 super zoom lens too.. will it be a kit for the d400?
Yeah, saw that leak. Looks like a very interesting all-in-one lens if it's indeed coming.

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Mar 29 2012, 05:03 PM)
At ISO 25600 i see 5D3 jpeg is better than D3s, D800 and even D4.
But if see in RAW, D4>D3s>5D3>D800
Anybody have the same justification?

P/S: I am looking at the right lower corner black card with colour square which is just on top of the watch.
I've not really analysed the shots one by one but I went straight to the ISO 6400 JPG for the 5DMkIII and the D800 and downloaded them. My impression is that noise wise, the Canon is cleaner but just marginally. But when it comes to details, the D800 trumps it. I also notice that the Canon is slightly sharper than from the D800. They have always been this way as far as I can remember. On a side note, one can probbaly bump the default sharpness on the D800 from 3 to 4 or 5. Anyway on the 2nd pic, I showed that with just a tiny bit of USM, you'd get it as sharp as the Canon plus get more details too.

Again, just observing from the SOOC JPG files from both cams...

SB920? for real? I thought SB910 just out???
I may be wrong but I think he's referring to the big flood lights on the top right corner as the SB-920.

D800 rumor at photo forum for 8.8k? some said at lowyat? i think really bad rumor. I went ask around those with stock Rm10k++.. sigh
Many thank for the confirmation and feedback. As I suspected...

Plan is D700, 16-35, 35 and 85. The D90 and 70200 cause my friend wanna borrow... he's still deciding between D4/D800/1DX/1Dmk4/5Dmk3... LOL

16-35 for landscaping, 35mm for cars + girls, 85mm for detailed cars + girls tongue.gif But since he's gonna carry the 70200 for me.. I can also use 70200 if I want biggrin.gif.
I bet that you'd be very reliant on the 70-200 and would not want to give your friend to borrow. Trust me. biggrin.gif Hard to shoot with 35mm. You need to go very near and you'll block everybody.

Anyway, photographers over there are very discipline. They take turns and are always mindful of people around them taking photos. Not like photographers here unfortunately. sad.gif

Woow... Nikon is really pushing to the max. rclxms.gif Nice to see that for once. A few years ago, Nikon was always playing catch up.

Anyway, the 28mm f/1.8 sounds interesting with a quite nice focal length.

Go for D7k bro.
D5100 technically better than D90 just less the BG option and can't support D lens only hehe.
and D7000 is much better !

if refresh, it double the cost. on the other hand, price of d7k will drop.

I really don't see anything that is better from the 5DM3 over the D800, not a single feature nor function. I'll always be a little bias as can be seen from my display picture on the left, but even if i'm honest and being objective here, quality wise or price wise, nope, obvious choice is gonna be D800. tongue.gif
