My camera having prob, so i sent to the nikon hq for repair.

They informed me, the prob is on my shutter and it cost me RM800++...It is quiet weird because I bought the camera only for 2 years, and only use it on my holiday (very2 rarely use). I bought the camera at Bintang Maju..

Anyone using d5100 here? How much frame you can burst before the buffer filled up? Mine is like less than 10 picture only with class 6 16gb sandisk sdhc

Taking long exposure shot will take a long time for it to clar the buffer before i can shot again, if 30sec shutter it will take aroound 20-25sec to clear the buffer

i dont think i have the distortion control on, but i have noise reduction on and other reduction or improvement

dynamic range set to highest, color space is neutral and other settings forget

those feature affect the writing time as well?

I stopped chasing socket technology because everytime you buy a new system, it's already obsolete. Best of the best is always Intel but it's expensive. Thinking of AMD or just settle for Sandy Bridge and if I can get away with something in the middle of the pack but faster than what I have now, it should be good.

I'm currently using Capture NX2. The 64 bit version is suppose to be fast but opening and minor processing (exposure, WB etc) D800 NEFs on the Capture NX2 is damn slow. I have 6GB memory on my overclocked Q6600 and I see that it already uses 5GB plus when I process one D800 NEF. 

Not necessarily but to avoid your head getting bald cause pull too much hair out tension caused by slow pc its good to have a powerful one + massive storage

Hey, you're thinking about D800 now? You work damn hard and so long for your 24-70. The D800 is 2 times more expensive. Stick with D700 lah and you will not have problems with PC hardawre.
